I’m seeing 8% battery drain in a day when parked at home without sentry mode. When parked outside without sentry mode, there is only 1% drain in 8-9 hours. I’m suspecting phone being nearby could be causing this but when I turn off phone Bluetooth at home, I see the same phantom drain. I didn’t change any settings on the Truck. It started happening a month ago. I’m taking it to service next week. WiFi signal is strong in the garage. I don’t know what else could be causing this! I don’t have any other Tesla apps on my phone. The truck is not sending any data through any other 3rd party apps. I don’t have climate control or any other settings enabled that could drain the battery. This happens on a good warm day as well.

The truck keeps making thud sound and wakes up often at home. I don’t check the App constantly but whenever I open after a few hours, the truck will be awake.

Any idea why this is happening?

Pretty standard for the CT, the phantom drain has gotten better with updates but it still uses more than most eco-lodges just sitting there, which is a problem for a "Green" vehicle.
When gas was down to under$3 a gallon an equivalent ICE truck was cheaper due to not having those electrons "leak" out constantly via phantom

This was not happening before. I charge till 60% at night and wake up to have 55% to drive to work. The truck also constantly keeps making thud sound waking up constantly. I don’t think this is normal with all CTs.

The thud sound is it recognizing the bluetooth on your phone and waking up, you can confirm this by trying it at night, you will see the microwave door buttons light up white, depending on your lock settings it may only show on the drivers door. You can prevent this by turning Bluetooth off on your phone, but kinda defeats the purpose of phone for entry.
Going from 5% phantom to 8% phantom is not a big swing with decimal places in charge % not shown and other factors.

Phantom drain used to be worse, it is still bad, but hopefully with them selling these $60k trucks they put some work into fixing the phantom. Because the truck can regularly phantom lose 10kwh which is enough to run a small efficient HOME for a day.

I saw the phantom drain when Bluetooth was turned off all night. I even disabled Bluetooth specifically for Tesla App from the Settings. The drain is still happening.

I only have .5% to .1% drain per 24 hrs. at my home without sentry mode off.
Thanks! You mean 0.1% drain without sentry mode? That’s incredible.

Do you have “Nearby Interactions” and “Live Activities” enabled the settings for Tesla App. I suspect whether those settings are causing the issue. I have disabled them today to see if it works.

Check to see if you have Power Outlets enabled. You should be able to see in the app under controls. With that on it will drain even when nothing is connected. If its on, disable it and see if it improves.

Thanks! All outlets are disabled. I just disabled Bluetooth on my phone all day, but the battery still drained by 3% in 10 hours without sentry mode.

Yes .1% drain. It's been 16 hrs since my last charge to 75.11% and right now my CT is at 75.9%. I'm using Android and don't see those settings in the app. My phone stays far enough away where it is not connected to my CT until around 20 feet from it.

My beast is about the same. Very little drain sitting in airport 4 days.

Just tested this with my new 2026 AWD. Overnight it got slightly below freezing. Went to bed at 2200 with 36% charge (low power mode on), this morning after 10 hours it had 32% charge. So the CT phantom drain is pretty brutal.

It takes about 6 hours of 120v/12amp charging per day just to keep up with the phantom drain. This kinda sucks being off-grid with solar a lot of my energy is wasted. I thought Tesla's didn't have a big phantom drain problem, guess I was wrong!

Yeah I cant stand the phantom drain. 5% on average. So frustrating. I ran a Kona EV for 5 years 150000km. Whatever I left it at I'd come back to!!!
