2026 new glass roof reduces heat by 50%

Any validity to this. Service mentioned the reason star link is less effective at transmitting through the glass roof is in 26 it’s a new mfg process adding metal or something else. Claimed one half better heat deflection.

I have a ‘26 and am in Texas. But it hasn’t been “miserably hot” yet for me to really experience if the roof is letting in an extraordinary amount of heat.

Regardless, I installed a roof shield a few days ago. If you’re typically parked outside, I don’t think any glass roof improvement is going to significantly reduce heat if the trucks outside for a couple of hours.

My '26 surprisingly let in very little heat from the overhead glass. Now the windshield on the other hand.. had to get that bad boy tinted it was pretty brutal.

I don't know how people living outside of Seattle go without tinted windshields.

Only one week in with the 26 cb and heat from the top glass seems ok. I was expecting to need to cover. Will see as the season heats up.
Front glass, yes. Did a hundred mile round about over the weekend and that’s where the heat comes from.

I had a 2024 FS AWD and needed to install the roof sunshade, got the 2026 Cyberbeast about 3 weeks ago and just went on a 2,000 mile road trip, definitely much less heat coming from the roof glass, hasn’t gotten up into the 100’s yet so too early to tell, but I am hoping I won’t need to put the sun shade in. I also got front windshield and windows tinted, huge difference.

I have a 2025 CT and my tinter actually told me NOT to tint my roof glass because it already had a good UV rejection tint from the factory, so I didnt.

just use a shield. It won’t help much and also, I want Sun in the winter .

I use one similar to this re-usable, no sagging sunroof shade, don't remember where I bought it in black.

I assumed I would need something like this but for 2026 at least appears may not need. Will see as summer kicks in.

as long as your windshield has UV block youll be fine. but you definitely need something there.

i have this one as well but got mine from hanshow. i also bought some very thick black yarn to put in the corners to completely block all light. it works very well, nice and dark and cool inside.

My CT was built in September 2025. What are the odds it also has the new more heat resistant Glass? Does anyone have a firm date on when they started putting the new glass in?
