Must either be high demand, or pausing to fulfill the Standard AWD orders. Interesting either way

"interesting" is not how I'd put it...

So the truck with the most parts can be built ahead of simpler models. Boy, tesla sure knows how to remind you that you're flying coach 🥴

They’re building them in the order of highest margin to lowest margin.

Trying to boost their EBITDA however, possible.

Exactly my thought. Highest margin trim equals the speediest delivery window.

Those trying to order the $80k PAWD trim see the 9+ week lead time now contemplate stepping up to the $99k Cyberbeast for a quicker delivery date.

You should be thankful that Tesla is able offer you a truck for under $80K that Ford or GM couldn't bring you for less than $120K without losing their shirt. Wait, scratch that, Ford or GM couldn't bring you a truck like the Cybertruck even if they wanted to, they don't have the expertise in materials science, huge alloy castings, and high speed distributed networks with central compute, to name but three areas that would prevent them from engineering and producing a truck as advanced as the Cybertruck, and that's on top of their corporate inefficiencies and lack of vertical integration that would skyrocket the price of a Cybertruck clone well beyond what almost anyone would want to pay.

And you're complaining that Tesla builds the ones with the slimmest profits last? I feel fortunate they took the initiative to produce such a fine machine to begin with!

If you hadn't waited until demand exploded, you could have bought one off the delivery center lot just a couple of months ago. This one is on you! Demand exceeds supply.

Wishful thinking here - but maybe these new 'pushed out' delivery estimates are because they spooled up the Cyber SUV production for release with the roadster reveal? (wishing really hard on this one lol)

Basically impossible. Because a Cyber SUV would necessitate extensive testing (including crash testing) and regulatory filing that are publicly visible. They can't "spool up" a new model (start ramping production) without us knowing about it.

Yeah. If they only have a limited number of PCS, it makes sense to put them in the most expensive orders first.
