Folks, I may have figured it out. Check your fluid hose inside the big wiper blade. Mine was loose, and one little black clip was broken. The air flow comes across the vents in the wiper assembly, and the angle matters.... hence the left right difference. Make sure the hose can't catch the air stream, and is well tucked up inside. So has anyone heard anything new on this front or gotten any satisfaction and been able to eliminate that noise? My noise seems to be getting louder even though the weather is getting warmer. It's crazy and I hate it!
But how to account for weather temp changes? When warmed up, etc., sound stops. Also, clicking on Slippery Surface setting almost eliminates it also, like an immediate flick of the switch. Would be great if just airflow, etc.Folks, I may have figured it out. Check your fluid hose inside the big wiper blade. Mine was loose, and one little black clip was broken. Whenit is cold outside, the hose is harder, and makes more noise than when it is softer. But how to account for weather temp changes? When warmed up, etc., sound stops. one of my clips for that hose is broken. i wonder if they sell them? its a poor design maybe ill try some tie wraps to secure it better to test the theory
yep.. you have a part number for it?
Try this. At 70 mph, push the wiper button once. When the blade is down, you can really hear the air turbulence. You might also see te fluid hose fluttering, just a tiny bit, in the air stream. Google "windshield wiper fluid hose loose in Cybertruck". Turns out this has been noticed before. My hose is like snake, and I think the air can catch it.
Another great test would be to temporarily remove the whole wiper arm. If the noise is gone, the problem would be pinned down.Try this. At 70 mph, push the wiper button once. i have another idea for a test. tape over the slots instead. that should block the wind well enough to see if the noise stops. it has not been cold enough here so i cant try it yet.Another great test would be to temporarily remove the whole wiper arm.
