2026 new glass roof reduces heat by 50%

I don't know about heat but All Cybertruck glass including windshield, roof, and side glass ect reduces uv to less than 2 (99%+ UV protection). Its stated in the cybertuck literature.


VLT values as tested by meter

Front windshield: 76%
Windshield strip: 1% tapered to 76%
Front side windows: 72%
Front A pillar triangles: 72%
Rear side windows: 23%
Rear bed window: 26%
Roof glass: 3%

It seems like heat still comes through. Driving into the sun the other day I was contemplating film for the windshield.

with our extreme rake angle it seems like the windshield is quite protected. the front of my truck is a bug graveyard but the windshield has none. my M3 has many more bugs and is just about to get replace from a rock strike

My CT was built in September 2025. What are the odds it also has the new more heat resistant Glass? Does anyone have a firm date on when they started putting the new glass in?

My 2/25 CT AWD has the roof upgrade. Big switch from the ‘24 models. I was all set to add tint but the detailer said unnecessary.

Yeah, thanks for confirming. I had my buddy pull up in his cyber truck which is a 24 and got on my ladder and confirmed that my 25 AWD has the new roof glass!

The new glass has a darker tint to it than the old one when you look at it from above

Tinted the windshield with 70% full & 5% strip and made a big difference with temps, totally worth it.

There is an entire thread on here somewhere of me being chastised for insisting on tinting my 24 glass roof in Arizona twice and how effective it’s been. I feel vindicated. Lol.

Any validity to this. Service mentioned the reason star link is less effective at transmitting through the glass roof is in 26 it’s a new mfg process adding metal or something else. Claimed one half better heat deflection.

'26 here, and the heat through the roof isn't bad at all. As others have said, all the heat seems to come through the windshield!

And I can confirm that the new roof completely blocks the starlink signal.

I think much of that hate stems from the cracking of windshields and roofs early on .. And to be honest who knows why that was happening in the first place, perhaps the tint never had anything to do with it..

Well. What I can tell you all with certainty from before and after tint AB is that it makes an enormous difference. The amount of energy that comes in through there in a sunny place that the climate control needs to get rid of is enormous. Glad Tesla addressed it.

Too bad there isn't a way for someone like me, with my 2024 roof that is starlink friendly to trade roofs with someone who needs/wants starlink to work in their truck. I'd do it in a heartbeat even if there was some installation fee. I'd ALMOST just go buy a replacement roof if I got one that would cut the heat. Same with the windshield since I can't tint mine at all.
