I'm guessing most people on this forum don't have the equipment or the know-how to weld aluminum, did you consider any method of bolting the frame together? Otherwise you might be getting some requests to make more of these. :)
My goal wa. s to make It light so one person can take it off easy. This is a prototype. I am a little off. But I make do it in steel. And maybe a canas to since it was made so on a trip I can ride with the back open. And not lose to much range and a quicker to . I don't have to worry about clearing the l cover. I done 4 trip so far no problem but 2 mobility scooter not have to take off the seat save a lot of space.

Wow LJ! That's very impressive ??! A few more pics. It seems light weight. How does it hold up on the highway, noise wise ? Are you going to share the materials and dimensions for others to diy?
So far on my trip no noise . I will need to do a controlled test but it made it im easy to put all the stuff in and a 3 wheel bike most of the space was take up by the grand parents stuff. Two walkers and two scooters and their bags

Nice job! You really did pack that in. Interestingly enough, I was looking at using the same pattern wrap, just wanted to see what it looked like on a CT. Not bad.

I just want to post some pictures of my top I made for my cybertruck for trip when I don't want to close the cover. I know there are some top out there but they are not coming off once you put it on. Mine uses 4 bolts to the bed mount. 5 min to take it off. And light weight to hang on the wall when not in use. As CT you don't really need a top with the cover. But when I travel I all way take the grand parents and they have a lot of stupid to mobility scooter walker and there old dashing suitcases . So now if I want I don't have to take the seat off and it will be quicker to load . The Top is aluminum with composite panels covering it. The rear cover will be a roll up cover with zipper on both sides.and flat hooks the keep it tight that hook to the bottom of the tail gate. Well that the plan . I will see how my sewing skills are . And I will wrap the side to match. Small update . I was going to use 35 oz coated canvas but my sewing machine would do it. So I took that to a upholstery shop. It may be done I hope today or tomorrow. But just in case I use some material I had . To make a flap just in case the other one doesn't make. Since I have a trip this weekend . I also wrapped the side not perfect and I have a few errors but it wrapped. Now I just need to do the top.

Wow way to go! What a simple and great idea but surely not so simple to actually produce. Would be very interested to know how much the entire thing ends up costing and approximately how much time it took. Brilliant DIY build my friend.
400 for composite 3 panel 125 each aluminum 130. Rear cover materials was free

Nice I thought about do the same but I did have the help. I plan will see the make a taller one so I can fit 4 tires across the front . But I will see . I may think about fabric so it is easy to take off since for trip easy to load . I have went camping yet . But I would make a composite panel hatch which it would be more secure . I like that I can take mine off quick by myself and it not to heavy .

Maybe the second one. It works good for me but I want to be able to put 4 tires against the back window and I don't have the clearance I want. If you look at the frame you could build it . 1 inches square tubing and I think a 15 angle in the front and the height you want in the rear. I did 19 inches so it no higher than the top of the truck . I used composite panels to cover it. But your could use fiber glass or a fabric . And is used to Mounting spots I 3 quarter bolts . But it did give clearance for a wrench to fit on top of or ratchet. Nece I do a smaller bold .. I made it to be out on in less than five minutes. The wear flap was a rubber coated canvas with zipper on both sides to close and latching strap to pull it tight with rubber 1 inch flat hooks they hook under the edge of the tailgate .
