Just an honest question here, as I sometimes get confused with electricity measurements. But isn't this like 500kw (or 123kw) per a unit of time too? Like per hour? I'm sure you're probably just abbreviating assuming everyone knows what you mean, but I'm just trying to get it clear in my head.
The replies you got were annoying.

Watts = Volts * Amperes This is Power

If you plug your car into a 10 Amp circuit at your house at 120 Volts, you will get 1200 Watts, or 1.2 kW.
If you have it on a 240 Volt Circuit, that will get you 2400 Watts, or 2.4 kW.

Energy = Power * time

Now, how long you charge for will give you the energy transferred, which is also the units used to describe batteries: kWh. So 2.4 kW for 2 hours will fill your battery with 4.8 kWh

So, if you are charging at 50 kW for 2 hours, you would fill your 100 kWh battery.

When you drive your car, the more you accelerate will use more Power. The time that you use that extra power for is what uses the energy stored in your battery faster.

So, when people talk about charging curves, think about it as diffenent times during the charge give you different Power you get to charge with. If you only had two chunks of time:
1. You charge at 100 kW for 30 min => 50 kWh
2. You charge at 50 kW for 1 hour => 50 kWh

So, you’d charge for 1 hour 30 minutes to get the full 100 kWh because you slowed down for the second part of the charging session.

Hope this helps you grok it.

P.S. Your energy bill will charge you in kWh. Everything above applies to that too.

Thank you for the detailed reply! I was a bit confused with the prior responses....they didn't seem to properly take into account the time variable... 🤷🏽‍♂️

I updated to 2026.14.6.6 and now Active Road Noise Reduction disappeared entirely (no mention of it in the usual audio menu and not found in search). Anyone seeing this problem?

just updated and am seeing the same thing. The setting disappeared from the Audio menu. Honestly I never really noticed anything when it was on.

Same here—ANC made absolutely zero effect for me. It was a placebo switch for Tesla to see if people actually believed they experienced a change. I'm just curious why they removed the placebo switch (maybe they collected enough data).

ANC on my x never did anything. Don't bother worrying about it.

I have never tried noise canceling in any form ever. I have very sensitive hearing and pick up the slightest hum even from circuits before anyone else. And after turning on ANC in the CT, my ears kinda semi pop or “adjust” when it’s on. I don’t feel any reduction in cabin noise but ears feel something.

Anyone else with sensitive hearing feel it?

That sounds exactly like what I felt, but it was so subtle I wasn't sure if I was imagining it or not.

With the most recent update ANC is gone from the audio menu. Not gonna miss it but I hope they have just recalled it to calibrate it better.

I noticed the same - ANC is gone from the Audio menu after the 14.6.6 Spring Update. Wasn’t listed as removed in release notes. I wonder why?
