NY State Registration + Inspection Sticker Holder

This weekend, my mechanic complained about placing the stickers on the long dashboard for the CT. I drew inspiration from someone else making the same holder, but for Texas stickers, which are sized differently. I made this yesterday after 5 revisions . Thoughts? I made one for just registration and another for both registration and inspection.

I thought about doing the same for my PA sticker, though I wasn't sure if it would be legal to not mount the sticker to the windshield 🫣

Friction, it’s wedged in between the a pillar trim. Made of PETG to withstand UV and the Heat!

Sorry to buzz kill, but in New York State
“The "Permanently Affixed" Rule: NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law requires these stickers to be permanently and directly attached to the windshield glass using the sticker's own adhesive. “
The only location requirement by NYS law is left side from windshield inside out.
I do mid length on the left.

Oh wow, that sucks.

What if I put the sticker on a clear plastic sheet and then attach that instead? I’m going to experiment a bit, but it's definitely frustrating.

I know a few car enthusiasts who don't want adhesive on their windshield, so they simply don't display the sticker. Apparently they've gone years without ever being questioned about it. But knowing my luck, I'd get pulled over immediately.

What's this, a once a year event?

And you don't have to deal with it the inspector does.
