Cruise Control won't activate and just beeps

Do you have to first go to the Autupilot page and select it and agree to the terms? Are you moving when you try to select it or, if still, behind another vehicle?

Standing still. When I get on the highway and press the button. It beeps. Does not engage.

On my MY, the basic cruise control would not engage when standing still unless there was a vehicle detected to follow. When it is available to engage you should see the speed it will go to as well as the word “Max” greyed out. When engaged that will turn blue.

Had to have to take it in for service. Fixed within an hour.
