I wondered about this when I made those choices but that's what I wanted so that's what I ordered. Yesterday I got an interesting call from Tesla offering immediate delivery (Houston area) if I would change to white and all terrain tires. They said they had "several on the lot" that we could pick up immediately. So it seems that either these two new options are more popular at the moment or maybe they have a more limited limited production for them. Either way, I would be driving my new CT (and not waiting) if I wanted to change to that configuration. That would make sense as they only recently made these options available.
I am about 7 weeks from ordering so I was expecting a vin some time soon but now I am wondering. Maybe these new options change the curve in the near term.
I've read with a little amusement comments about FS ending soon. They will end it when people stop buying it. And people should realize that there may still be a long wait. I think it's true that as they work through the list, the rejection rate grows. People who were really hot for it signed up early, generally. But just because the don't spring for the FS, it doesn't mean they will bail. I have a friend, pretty far down on the list, who got his invitation and declined but he's not bailing. So, my conclusion is if you are down the list and don't go for the FS you probably have a significant delay ahead of you. They'll go back to the top of the list and start offering it to those who declined the FS and the uptake will be higher.
