Hey all,
I have just completed my bunk bed in my CT, sleep for 2. I love camping and outdoor but my wife love camping and sleep indoor with AC on. So I come up with my solution. With rear seat fold up, this is what I created. The lower bed is 29”x57”, diagonally, close to 5’2”. Top bunk is also the same measurement but with some room to stretch. my wife is about 5’2”, she sleeps on the bottom with our small dog, and I am 5”8”, sleep comfortably on top. I use the 4” memory mattress topper and cut to size. Climate control temperature runs all night with no issues. Before top bunk could be properly setup, both front seats must move all the way forward position to clear bed platform. I set the driver seat to sleep profile, move the passenger seat all the way forward.
Top bunk advantage for taller sleeper, diagonally. As shown in the picture my feet rest perfectly on the far back of the rear seat and my head far as between the front passenger seat and door panel. This for me is best of both worlds. Outdoor activities and sleep comfortably inside.
