About a week ago @HaulingAss responded to one of my posts saying I’d have my VIN within two weeks. I recognize he tends to be annoyingly right about stuff but WTF, man? To help increase the chances I even headed out of town for ten days.

Even though it’s Sunday I did check twice this morning and then ran some errands. I just checked again and holy effing, that annoying @HaulingAss was right — I GOT A VIN!

Texting with Tesla regarding getting the military discount and asked if they had any info on delivery date. She said it has a “soft date” of arrival at the Merritt Isle SC on Sep 2 which is 15 days after VIN assignment.

Did pre-delivery plus requested a trade in offer on 2023 Model Y LR.
Today get a "schedule delivery" msg, offered 8/26 and 8/27 which are bad for me because I'm on customer site dedicated those days.

Plus fund transfer won't be complete until 8/27ish according to financial services.

I texted msg back and said "need to wait for trade in offer before scheduling"

Got back and reply that they "would request trade team to get offer but to schedule delivery regardless of this as the system will put your order on hold or cancel if you do not schedule your delivery appointment."

I texted back and said initial dates are problematic and can I get offered 8/30 for delivery schedule. No reply as of yet.

Is the delivery window that narrow now?

UPDATE: SA msg says "per agreement" have 3 days to pick up vehicle once at delivery center. Can't schedule beyond 8/27. Going for it, hopefully the stars align for the $$ xfer and the trade in offer. Gotta get with insurance agent asap now. Feels like a bomb went off.

Two weeks.


No connection to Tesla, I just know that the hardest part about waiting is not knowing. So I'm giving you a firm date. Yes, it may be wrong, but at least I'm willing to do something Tesla won't do, give you a firm date!

How long after receiving VIN did you get information about scheduling delivery ?
Anyone taken delivery in Ohio? Wondering which location will be delivery site? Closest dealership is in Easton.

Looking like maybe a major uptick in VINs recently. A couple thousand maybe in a few days...
