Just got an email to order my non-foundation CT. I had three early reservations and purchased a FS.

Estimated delivery OCT-NOV 2024

Not available in Canada yet & at that price it would make the Cybertruck over $125,000 in Canadian dollars, so no go. I'll be waiting for the RWD, so maybe it will be affordable in Canada. Far cry from $39,900 US for 2 WD.

One online calculator says I should expect delivery in May of 2025 another says July of 2025. I called a Tesla Dealership two days ago to ask if it should be in an insulated garage (we get snow here.) I don't know if they guy I talked to knew what he was talking about because he said that if I ordered one that day (he didn't know I had a reservation) that I'd get it by mid 2025.

I thought I was "reserving" mine the day after the reveal in 2019. Tesla has played so many games I got tired and bought a 2024 Tundra TRD Pro in March and couldn't be happier. They have botched this whole release to high hell from start to finish in a long drawn out way.

So basically for ~8K delta, my AWD FS CT came with premium floor mats and Power share? Am I missing anything?

That's pretty optimistic.

2 million people pre-ordered the Cybertruck
- Roughly 50,000 people jumped the line by buying FS
- Tesla's goal is to make up to 200,000 units a year
- Even if 400,000 people opt out completely
- Even if 250,000 people wait for the single motor version...

That still leaves the queue at 1.3 million vehicles. I'm sure before Tesla makes the most basic version, they will try to get approval to sell AWD and Beast versions in other countries too.

Maybe Tesla doubles their production next year to 100,000 and 150,000 the year after...

...It'll still gonna be a few years until all of those pre-orders get fulfilled.
2 million minus:
1. Huge increase in price from when they reserved
2. Elons weirdo antics putting many off from buying any Tesla

= way less now.

If you factor inflation, Foundation Series option might have actually been cheaper.
Huh? That's not how inflation works.. You might be thinking of deflation
120k last year is worth ~ 150k today, so 80k today is worth ~69k last year

To qualify for the credit, Tesla needs to transition off of the imported Chinese cathodes used in the 4680 cells. Either via DBE or using Panasonic cells.
In 2025, the restriction on Chinese minerals kicks it.
You got a sauce for this?

I thought that tesla would wait until the "refresh" to release non-fs, but i guess i was wrong.. Pretty sure DBE CTs are still in testing, wonder how long until we have those? I thought 2025 model would have DBE for sure..
