I see your point. Think of all the annoying people who know everything about the CT and never have experienced one. The irony is there are a lot of people on this site who get mad at the biased CT hate, but then do the same thing for the Lighting. I'm not sure if it is funny or sad.

Truth is, both are excellent trucks.
It’s true my thought process on it is why are we comparing these ? You like the lighting buy it you like the CT buy it. I come from a point of defending the CT more than hating on the lightening comparing the lightning to the CT might as well
Me
Comparing the lightning to the mustang or the CT to the Mustangs. It’s a different looking vehicle all together

The CT just misses a lot of stuff that comes in handy for a work truck. Reach over the bed, tailgate step, table in the front, etc. Plus I feel a lot better beating up a $65k truck than a $110k truck.
Almost no one reaches over the side of these modern, taller trucks... The standard truck doesn't come with more step.

And table? You really want a table sitting in front of you while you're driving? A tank has a better forward view angle than a Lightning.

And we haven't talked about the utility of turning radius on worksites, or being nearly a foot shorter while having six more inches of bed!

And the Cybertruck is not $110k! And really, really difficult to 'beat up'.

As much as I think the truck is overpriced, it is definitely not 'not a work truck'.

Counterpoint to that.

I can reach over the bed just fine in an F150. I cannot in my CT. I also can get into the bed of an F150 MUCH easier thanks to the step.

The table is kind of cool in the F150 to write on, do work, but I do this on my armrest in the CT.

I don't think the CT has better front visibility than an F150. I think there's pros and cons.

The pillar creates a blind spot and the front visibility is about the same. The distance from your seat to the front of the truck is almost exactly the same, but the angle of the CT windshield almost prevents bug splats vs the window of the F150 which attracts them.

Do I like my CT better than my Platinum F150? Absolutely. Are there areas of the F150 that are better for a work environment? Absolutely.

I think conveniently he didn’t add the tax and license to the lightening but did to the CT for dramatic effect ?

I do have to agree one of my biggest gripes is no step in the side of the bumper to get up into the bed. This is somthing I used daily on my 2500. It’s pretty inconvenient to have to knee up into the bed. One reason I’m waiting on a nice steel bumper with a side step in it ,
I don’t know what the f he’s talking about a table in the front ?

Is the option to kneel not in the phone app?

Got a picture of both?

The step they don't list in the cheap model?

I don't think the CT has better front visibility than an F150. I think there's pros and cons.
I'm still waiting for someone to do a test, but: You have to be shorter to be hidden from. Cybertruck, and the Cybertruck has a forward camera, standard.

I guess because it's standard?

The feature is available in Ford F-150 models ranging from the XL to the Limited trims. The work surface is accessible by folding the console shifter into the center console with the push of a button when the vehicle is in park.
Standard features are listed under the list 'standard'. I will admit some will be missing from the listing... it doesn't say glove box or number of pockets, either..

I don't have my F150 anymore, but I used to grab stuff over the side all the time. That's not possible with the CT due to the sail.

The step is an option. It's $430 on the cheaper models.

I'm 6'2 (basically 6'3). There's no visibility advantage in the CT. I drove a Lightning for a week as a test and I've owned 2 Platinum and 1 Lariat. It's the same, there's not the blind spot, but there's also not an advantage from seeing the front. Every F150 I've driven had a front camera as well. Yes, this is an upgrade, but even with upgrades the F150 is a lot lower cost than the CT.

Again, I like the CT more for the audio, HFS, turning, driving dynamics, adaptive suspension, looks, FSD, UI, technology, charging but that's not to say the F150 doesn't have it's advantages. Both have pros and cons. The F150 Lightning's frunk is awesome and it has power. I had massaging seats in my truck and I used them every drive.

The Lightning was much quieter in the cabin. The CT has a gear whine that I still can't get used to.

Wow this thread is all over the place with a good mix of hate and butt hurt when people mention the Lightning. To me it's somewhat pointless to compare these trucks as they are marketed to different people to fill different needs. And to be honest talking $$$ and attempting to equate value is too subjective. Plus let's be real most folks aren't buying a new EV truck based on being fiscally responsible.

For me, thinking that it would be a year or more before I was able to order a CT I researched and drove the Lightning and thought it was a solid offering with tons of space (more than the CT?). However, for me there's nothing that sets it apart and I want something with more unique styling. People also keep mentioning the Rivian but unless reality doesn't match the numbers on paper it's a smaller mid-size truck that isn't a consideration for me. The Hummer is really cool looking, plenty of interior space, drove great but has a smaller bed and lower payload. That mixed with being a 9000 lb behemoth I'm afraid it'll crack the cement of my garage. So in the end for me the CT seems to check all the boxes with a good mix of interior space, bed size and utility and it looks really cool with great tech! Now as to why a late reservation holder like me was sent an invite, probably a combination of factors but I doubt demand is going to dry up.

Have you ever driven either truck?

There was a poster here that did a breakdown that the front of the truck to the driver is the same in both with measurements.

The sail rises up. This isn't "trust me bro", it's really obvious. Why do you have some impression that the CT is just as easy to access the bed from the back or sides than other trucks? I don't think anyone that didn't have a lifted truck would say that or has said that. Same for visibility.

You came in with "kneel mode", which doesn't exist nor can you change the suspension with the app. How much do you know about the CT? I have 15,000 miles on one and have more than 200k miles on F150s.

Again, I like the CT more. It's my favorite vehicle, but it's not the best in all categories and there's things it's worse at. Nothing that is a deal breaker for me.
