Trolling Light Show: ICE engine failing to start

FAILED-Another day another mess. I went to try the light shows today and they are all gone. The 3 stock shows are there, but all the others are gone. The MP3's now, somehow, show up in the USB music. Ok, I admit it, me and my lady did the one verse of the chicken dance when it started playing but other then that....so I deleted all the shows from the lightshow folder and reinstalled them from the laptop. Still nothing.. Anyone able to explain this mystery?

I'm afraid it can only be explained by computer incompetence. Don't feel bad, this is common. The solution? Copy the files back to where they belong. If you have the correct formatting and directory structure, and the files are compatible, it will work.

Today I went to the supercharger for a short time I got done I was still playing a game and suddenly the screen went blank, came back on and I'm like what the heck was that... so I checked the light show and all of the light shows are now showing again. Can anyone explain that?

I have this exact problem and have had it since I got my CT in July. There are other threads that talk about the fix.

My fix:

• Restart the screen by pushing and holding the two scroll wheel buttons.
• Go back to the light show screens and wait. Once the operating system fully comes back online, all your downloaded light shows will show up. I had to wait a couple minutes and there they were.

I don't understand why I have to do this each time, but the important thing is that it works! I have about 50 light shows on my hard drive and they all show up once I do this simple fix.

i’d prefer a carwash foam cannon of thick soapy suds so that we could use it as the CT equivalent of a “coal roll” in retort to those that would coal roll us.

*driving down highway
*get’s coal rolled
*passes with beast and pulls in front
*launches foam cannon soap suds rearward
*departs into distance with CB acceleration

Until the CTs come with a big button marked G like the mach 5 to release a homing robot bird drone that can separately troll coal rollers with ongoing annoyance, the foam cannon is my vote.

I'm thinking about getting a windshield wiper pump and engineering it to squirt water over my truck and splash onto a Coal Roller that is behind me (of course this would be in response to him trying to coal roll me, I would easily overtake him). It would look like I was using my windshield wiper sprayer.

I did that yesterday. Nothing happened. Today, they just reappeared after charging. I don't know if that had anything to do with them showing up but it just happened a few minutes after I unplugged the cable. I had charged at home for a bit so I don't think that was the cause.
Today they are all working. On that website they had Lee Greenwood Proud to be an American and I cannot get that one to work. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it seems to be corrupt. The MP3 plays as a USB song but now as a light show. Very strange.

Simon (@teslalightshows) is awesome! He shared a 3 or S with something similar and I said I wanted it for the truck for Lowes and HomeDepot parking lots, he had it done in a few hours!

There is one more step to this for most people. After doing the above you need to unplug the USB drive for 10-15 seconds and plug it back in. The lightshows should then show up.
I have to do this regularly as well.

Yes, this 100% needs to be a thing!

See above for final step.
Make sure the names for both the MP3 and fseq files are exactly the same before the extensions. It is possible it is bad but naming can cause issues as well.

here is one more step to this for most people. After doing the above you need to unplug the USB drive for 10-15 seconds and plug it back in. The lightshows should then show up.
I have to do this regularly as well.

I haven't had to do this step, but it definitely makes sense in order for the CT to recognize everything. Rebooting and waiting works for me, but not all apparently.

I really wish that Tesla would fix this issue, so we don't have to use our homemade remedies/workarounds.

After updating to new horn sound I noticed that my custom downloaded Light Shows now are able to be picked in the list without having to reboot the screen. And stay there even after the CT goes to sleep. Not sure if this horn update fixed the Light Show issue or the last FW (2024.39.5) update.

Are you saying the “horn update” (big truck air horn) occurred at 2024.39.5 or before? I wish they would mention things in the release notes.

Recently someone said that the light show only works from the glove compartment. I tried that and it worked. Are you saying the light show now works from console and back seat USB-C ports?

I'm not saying any of this. Big horn update happened for me yesterday from a message sent by tesla in the app. I already had the 2024.39.5 fw installed.

Lightshow only works from the USB-A port in the glove compartment.
