I commute daily to downtown LA. Couple months ago I turned the wiper on for about 10 seconds when it was drizzling. I take the same street everyday. Now the wiper goes off every single time I am at that same location.
Makes no sense. How do I fix this? Now I feel the air suspension adjustments are also tied to the gps coordinates.

There’s a button in Service to ā€˜Remove Saved Locations’.

IIRC, it’s for suspension settings but who knows? Maybe it’ll work for the wiper.

FYI, the manual indicates that you can do that without going into the service menu:

The wiper doesn't have any location memories. It is probably a coincidece.

Still happens everytime I pass through that spot!! I'll start recording a video and post here.
I tried removing saved locations - didn't help.

Have you done a reset yet ? That’s the first thing I would try
From the googs AI
If your Cybertruck's windshield wiper consistently turns on at the same spot every day, it likely indicates a problem with the rain sensor calibration or a faulty sensor itself, causing it to misinterpret the same area of the windshield as consistently having moisture even when it's dry; this is a known issue that could potentially require a software update or a visit to a Tesla service center to recalibrate the sensor.

Possible reasons:
  • Faulty rain sensor:
The sensor might be malfunctioning, detecting moisture where there isn't any, leading to the wipers turning on at the same spot repeatedly.

  • Sensor misalignment:
The rain sensor could be slightly misaligned, causing it to focus on a specific area of the windshield more than others.
  • Software glitch:
A software bug within the Cybertruck's system could be causing the wiper activation to be triggered at the same location every time.

  • Dirt buildup:
Dust or debris on the sensor could interfere with its function and lead to inaccurate readings.

What to do:
  • Clean the rain sensor:
Carefully clean the rain sensor with a soft, damp cloth to remove any dirt or debris.

  • Check for software updates:
Ensure your Cybertruck has the latest software updates, as Tesla often releases patches to address known issues like this.

  • Visit a service center:
If cleaning the sensor doesn't solve the issue, take your Cybertruck to a Tesla service center to have the rain sensor checked, recalibrated, or potentially replaced.

Yes. I did a reset. That addressed the air suspension adjustments tied to specific locations but not this wiper issue.

Does Google know there's no rain sensor, right?

And that a rain sensor literally couldn't do that?

It's probably a coincidence that you needed to spritz there before. Can you report the apot via FSD report button?

Well, I often know more than their AI, which is utterly moronic at times.

LLMs don't 'know' things, they're just measuring how common strings of words are together and spit them out. Using them for answers is not reliable, nor what they were designed to do. Always check the sources that any AI is citing, and if they don't - they're talking out of their cybertronic butt.

Not that I don’t agree but allot of that information was more then me or the op new and was true so if 75% was right then that’s not bad, it’s about 73% more then we new ?
