They were at my service center and never got the notification. I can tell you that the SC is pretty overwhelmed with all the services. If Tesla notified all the Cybertrucks that haven't gotten the wheel covers that would cause a serious problem with thousands of Cybertrucks going in. I believe they are just doing them as trucks come in from other issues.

I had a service ticket created because my front doors were starting to sag a little where I can see the gap getting bigger.
I said in my request ā€œI don’t need them installed I just want to pick them upā€ ? wonder if that helped the approval

i randomly made another service request about 2 weeks ago and the service center moved my appointment to this thursday 12/19 because they said they had to order parts. i was kinda surprised but they said today the installation wouldn't take more than a few hours (at least not an overnight visit).

would have been nice if tesla emailed me saying the option to have it installed was possible though.

Is it just california that isn't allowing the light to actually be usable from the service center or are people getting it fully installed and working from tesla? I guess I will find out in 3 days.

I got a call a few days later from someone at the service center and he told me the light bars are being delivered by VINs and I’ll get a notification when I can get mine installed. He then cancelled my service appointment since it was only for that. This was about a month ago.

Didn’t work for me either. Tried last month twice. All I got is an estimate of $3000 to install it. Then they call me and tell me my VIN isn’t scheduled yet to get the light bar and they cancel the request.

I did that a few months ago as well with the same result. They never notified me but 2 weeks ago I tried again and got them to order the bar. Getting installed in 3 days.

Can you describe exactly what happened in your failed attempts? Did you type these exact words into the app?

So received a response today; they gave only a pick-up appointment for the wheel covers but not the off road light bar. See response to my request made today:

Delivered Aug 22 and tried both SCs I.e Ft Lauderdale and Miami Springs. Today I inserted the recommended language and got the aforementioned response. My third attempt.

I had a service appt scheduled yesterday for tire rotations and a few recall issues. I scheduled a month ago and added the accessory installation just like this to the ticket. Everything approved and I thought I was good to go. I went to drop off and advisor told me ,ā€ I’m gonna delete that as we don’t know when the lightbars are coming I ā€œ. Isn’t all of the parts ordered when ticket was approved? I got notice months ago I was on the list for light bar and wheel covers. I took delivery in May. So disappointing, not in waiting, but in the service department approving this line item, added separately, then just ā€œMeh, we ain’t gonna go thatā€. I swear I totally got the vibe I’m giving your lightbar to someone else.

One piece that’s missing here is that you can’t just book a service appointment for next week and expect this to work. Personally, I think you are more likely to be successful if you set it out a few weeks to 1 month at least.

Another thing to consider is that in my case I used the @Guylouis method and it worked perfectly on the first try. That said if the stock is constrained they’re not going to be able to install something they don’t have.

When I did mine, my SC told me that they had two in stock and I got one of them. They had only installed a total of 6 prior to mine.

It’s unfortunate that this process is so inconsistent and random seeming.

Successfully requested lightbar, but service advisor said that there is a problem if you install the lightbar with the current epoxy method, that if the windshield needs to be replaced the lightbar can break when removing. She said Tesla is designing a fix that will install the lightbar a different way and asked if I wanted to wait for that. Anyone heard of this?
