If I were driving past a known driver assistance vehicle engaged I would be extra aleart until I passed them or they went past me. That’s the only time it would be relevant
Why?

Autopilot is way more stable/ consistent than a human powered controlled car.

Edit: (A human powered car would be pretty slow)

A more useful feature is something that turn on your hazard lights if the interior camera detects your eyelids are half closed or google nose smells alcohol. In other words, soon if not already human drivers are much more deadly than FSD.

Announcing "I'm On Autopilot!" is a great way to encourage idiots to try and cause an accident so they can sue Tesla.
Would You do it if you knew Tesla cams are running? How would you pull it off to hold up in court?

I did, in fact, specify "idiots".

I'm sure something like this has probably been discussed already, but I believe it might be a good idea to illuminate the Tesla logo badge (frond and back) with a blue LED to alert other drivers that the car they are passing or being passed by is under driver assist or auto pilot control. Seems to me it would be a good idea for all auto pilot or driver assisted vehicles and maybe make the NTSB happy? Just an idea good or bad.
I think blue lights are restricted to emergency vehicle use, also I fail to see the purpose of this? Theoretically fsd passes safely on the left only, keeps right, etc etc. Why would anyone need to know it's a computer driving if it's properly aware and responsive to conditions?

These days everything is done with surveys. That means you will find the entire population in the smart half.

p.s. I love the cars you have listed. DeLorean tells me getting CT home is a family matter. 2022 tells me you are a man of faith.

Yeah, I would have to say a hard no to having a visible signal saying F*CK with me on it. Way too many anti-ev/anti-self driving fools would attempt dangerous maneuvers near us intentionally. There is enough idiots already damaging Tesla that are simply parked and I see no need to encourage them while I am driving or only half paying attention should self driving be engaged. Yeah I know, you should be attentive and alert the entire time its engaged but honestly if that is a requirement then the feature is useless and I might as well just drive it myself. :p

Cars with the blue light on would give me peace of mind. I am more interested in others using auto driving so it is easier for me to predict what they do.
lights are on cars to tell you when they are backing up, lights are on cars to turn on when your parked that most people never use parking lights why not a blue logo light to alert others that your letting the car drive itself? Also if a driver while under autopilot does have the car go off course and the driver says it reacted on its own. A possible outside witness can testify they did or did not see the light on to help validate the drivers claim.

I guess if you drive in a way while on AP that angers others to brake check you there is something more in play

Can't wait for the lack of open standards with this concept where every car has self driving yet each manufacturer refuses to communicate with every other manufacturer, insisting their proprietary version is best, and holding the world back from an efficient and simple routing of traffic. Traffic jams of the future.. manufacturer induced instead of idiot induced!
