Found this at the local gas station today. Look closer.... entire truck sprayed in bed liner material. If I don't get the CT, I'm tempted to get a model Y and do the same...... tough as hell! :) (I had sprayed the fenders only of my '86 Toy)

Entire cost: $280 (guessing he did it himself)

Some of us had talked about doing it with the Cybertruck.

You can have that done professionally now. I’m guessing it would be more expensive that $280 though.

How will that spray treatment address rust from below caused by road salt and other corrosives finding a way into gaps between body panels and other parts?

Putting that crap on a stainless steel vehicle would be the act of a Philistine.
I agree. Globbing 20-50 (?) Pounds of that mud on a fine SS body? Add a bumper sticker that says: "Proud to be a Redneck".

I can totally see having this done to a very capable traditional off-road vehicle. The protection would be great for all those branches that jump out at the vehicle or rocks that jump up to scrape the side.

But for the CT I thought the SS was doing this work already. No need for the added weight or expense. But I suppose one could look at this as similar to a custom wrap that had been ruggedized. Adds color and uniqueness. But unlike a wrap, there would be no taking it off later in case you wanted a change. Kinda like a tattoo. Better be sure you want this for life before applying it.

Removal is the big gotcha.

Tassels, maybe some decorative hoops.

I think I’m more of a 3d dragon kind of guy than a peacock though.

Decorated trucks. These are a big thing through much of the world. Japan has a whole dokotora movement that has been happening since the 1970's.

Or there are the Jeepneys, Chiva bus, Tap Tap bus, Jingle truck.

With the need for aerodynamics in EVs, I'm curious how these types of extreme individualization will play out long term. I look forward to seeing the creativity.

Jingle trucks!! That’s what I was thinking of, bells.

Not exactly ruggedized.
