What I would do is grab a 5 inch foam pad and one of these microfiber from walmart. Wrap the microfiber over foam pad and apply polish. This will help keep away from digging into the steel with your fingers and cause scratches

That is sweet!!! Ya the aluminum will go dull after some time even with maintenance I'd say 2 years or so. The stainless CT after a proper polish will last a lifetime. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to polish less mirror like.
