  1. Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Get a Lighting! A lot of CT reservations will... there will be many other viable ev truck options in the next year or so. I'm not convinced that CT will be a viable product as yet. I want to see a production vehicle going through some extreme testing/comparison to other EV trucks and some eval...
  2. Tesla all but confirms Cybertruck production delay until 2022

I was wondering about that lol! I just read it as "cell" anyway...
  3. Tesla all but confirms Cybertruck production delay until 2022

There will be zero production of CT this year... they are developing a completely new vehicle, don't have the batteries and they are also dealing with chip shortages (as is every auto mfg). There is no way customer deliveries are happening within 5 months. From the Q2 earnings call July 26,2021...
  4. Tesla all but confirms Cybertruck production delay until 2022

Base on InsideEV's article, we won't see volume production of 4680's until mid 2022 at the earliest (best case) Given this, I doubt there will be anything but a trickle of CT production until 4th quarter next year. Its also competing with Semi for cells....
  5. FORD releases F-150 LIGHTNING mini-Me “Maverick”

Thats not a bad plan at all! You will have a ride and get to see how the first CTs perform when they roll off the line. Sell it when your # comes up.
  6. FORD releases F-150 LIGHTNING mini-Me “Maverick”

If there had been more intensive government regulation and incentives... we could be at a place of an earlier cutoff. Tech could have been forced to advance more quickly. Unfortunately we are at a point of even more urgency now and so are attempting to compress that transition in a shorter time...
  7. FORD releases F-150 LIGHTNING mini-Me “Maverick”

I don't disagree with you, I know that is an optimistic date but the sooner the better. Realistically I don't see any governments moving that quickly. That is an interesting point about existing "new" cars that sit for a few years. I haven't read the details of all the 2035 ICE bans, but this...
  8. Cybertruck deliveries based on progress of Giga Texas

Be careful of what you wish for. If there were wholesale cancellations of CT reservations it would mean; a) Tesla is in trouble and the FUD is on their ability to manufacture/deliver the CT in a timely manner or b) The CT itself turns out to be a poorly built/performing product.
  9. FORD releases F-150 LIGHTNING mini-Me “Maverick”

It is not possible for manufacturers to just wholesale switch 100% of their product line to EV all at once... it takes take time to redesign, retool, build battery plants, charging infrastructure etc. There are many EV trucks coming (like CT and Lightning), but for now the Maverick is a good...
  10. Cybertruck deliveries based on progress of Giga Texas

I'm thinking about the same ballpark... with maybe in the hundreds for this 2021 year, and then north of 50k for 2022. This is assuming they have relatively few issues during production startup (that is a big IF). Still a lot to learn about the actual production... my assumption is that its...
  11. FSD Missing from my Account

Tesla can change the price to whatever they want. From the pre-order agreement; "As you may have only configured part of your Vehicle, any pre-order price provided to you in advance of the Final Price Sheet is only being offered to you as an estimate and is subject to change"
  12. When and how will be able to configure our own tesla Cybertruck?

Sad to say it... but that's likely what I am going to do. I like a lot of the features of CT (SS skin, brutalist, minimalist design... Range! (although not yet proven) ) but I don't think they will be producing in volume for years and this is their 1st truck. And this last point is really...
  13. Tesla Cybertruck beats F-150 Lightning and Hummer EV in US electric truck survey

This survey was from 2 months ago! It would be much more meaningful now that the F-150EV has been revealed. I did put in an f150 reservation and I'm holding onto my CT for now, despite existing concerns about Tesla quality, and lack of truck building experience. I would like to see a lot more...
  14. Elon: Cybertruck will not have door handles!

Thanks! I have done this with success in the past, but it does need to be reapplied. So there are still times I get frozen doors. I did a bit of digging around and see that the Ford Mach-E doesn't have handles too! So its not an unprecedented feature. I still have reservations about the...
  15. Elon: Cybertruck will not have door handles!

Guarantee this is going to freeze up, and not going to work. I've never had a vehicle that at some point during the winter I'm full force yanking the door open because there is a bead of ice around the door frame. I don't see how some auto actuating motors are going to provide enough leverage to...
