We are planning to meet up with enthusiasts across the US and organize off-road drive-alongs on some segments of the TransAmerica Trail. Hopefully that will get our team’s trucks in front of a bunch of folks who are interested in seeing the vehicle first hand.

Glad Munro and Elon talk a little bit about the Cybertruck’s off-road/adventuring capability. It may compete strongly against SUVs as well as pickup trucks. Or it may create a completely new market for buyers that want a crazy capable vehicle but don’t want to suffer the 12-20mpg fuel efficiency...

Would be great to run some of the trail with you! Maybe if we make enough noise you can get yours a little sooner since you’re going to be evaluating it and publicizing it pretty extensively. I guess we will all have to wait and see what the production ramp looks like next year and in 2022.

Love the video and looking forward to running the TransAmerica Trail. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up with you and other reservation holders at your rally in Colorado on the way across! This truck could really remake the utility vehicle segment.

It’s our understanding the trail is more than 50% off pavement, though there are certain portions of the U.S. where private land ownership makes it harder to find unpaved roads to incorporate into the trail.

Would be great to see other owners out on the trail for a mile or two!

We posted a new video showing the proposed off-road route of our little team. It's going to be a long two years to wait...assuming truck production stays on schedule. Always looking for ideas of the best places to stop in while we make our way across the country!

Thanks for the heads up! The team will seek as much information as possible about the current state of the trail before we depart. It's our understanding the trail also shifts over time as certain portions get paved, purchased, or become impassable.

I’m planning to sleep in the vault, but these renders look very cool. If demand is high, hopefully a lot of third parties will get in the game to develop camping equipment.

I’m hopeful that Tesla’s engineering team will put on their thinking caps for winch and spare tire attachment. It was good to see the Y has an off road traction mode, which means that some folks on the inside are considering off road utility.

Most of the trail is dirt roads maintained by localities or the forest service, so should be relatively easy going for most miles. Maybe we’ll see you out there for a drive-along for a few miles!
