I just thought of it for system compatibility to plug into the truck. Like if you're boon-docking for an extended period and don't want to go find a charging station. It seemed like (assuming you have the $$$$) an easy way to insure against problems or voiding any warranty.
Powerwalls are wait listed? I had no idea. But if the batteries are going to make a serious leap in technology then buying now isn't the best idea anyway.
In another thread someone said something that got me wondering. Install a Wall on the trailer? Input from solar on the trailer roof | interior side - plugs/wiring | exterior side - connectors for truck charging. No 'compatibility' issues. Not the cheapest way but maybe the simplest?
Or has...
Thanks to all involved for this place.
I'm older, medically retired (that means someone hit me with a car), and on SS Disability. I have been interested in EV for a long time but that 500 mile range is the first time I've thought EV could really work for me. Now I just have to figure out the...
Why re-invent the wheel? Do a conversion on a semi trailer. That way you get what you want, the way you want it. A 30' should be enough for full-time living with room for a 'garage' for your local run about when you stay in an area for a while. Or a couple of Zero bikes, etc.
Plenty of room...
If I was just charging a few devices I'd charge off the truck and not worry about it but if I'm honest I spend way too much time on the internet so . . . .
The reading I've done shows that each set up can be very different. Recommendation is to calculate the actual usage for your set up and...
I'm probably thinking larger space/more electrical use. It won't just be for week ends away. There's going to be some satellite internet and refrigeration/cooking going on.
With more surface area why not include solar panels and add a battery(s) for the camper functions. No need to 'steal' from the trucks capacity, that seems like a bad idea.
I'd like to be able to stand in at least one spot but I also get that a 'loft' for sleeping is likely best use of space.
I would think that a weight-distribution hitch has to do with the weight being pulled and how solid the connection is. I don't see how an adaptive air suspension system affects that?
I get the attraction of a pop up but I'd like a hard wall option. I'm not interested in finding out in the middle of the night that the bears have moved their range.
For someone that might spend extended time living in one I'm torn over the idea that a problem with a vehicle that requires more...
Full factory tow package - should include the brake controller, hitch receiver, back up assist, etc
Solar panels anywhere they can go and outlets in front, back and bed
Cab to bed access but not just a limited pass through, seats fold down or swing to each side
Adding a fourth - center front...
