In my state of Maine, we pay an excise tax when registering. It's the same high rate for ICE as well as EVs. So, I paid $1920 when I registered this year, and

will get the continued pleasure of paying $1400 next year, then $1080, $800, $520 etc... Maine is not a wealthy state, and yet, we get the pleasure of paying fairly high taxes.

Are everyone’s tabs this outrageous or is this a Minnesota thing ? My Model 3 tabs are nowhere near this much .

I used to live in Colorado. They based your registration on the vehicle value, I’m sure it would’ve been somewhere close to this. Now that I’m in Florida. I don’t bat an eye at my renewals.

Georgia/ Camden county, $228.00 for yearly registration. ICE vehicles are $28.00.

Yep, same as mine in Maine. When you buy expensive, you pay a lot of excise tax.
