Any important advantages of 2026 CT vs. Foundation Series (should I update)?

If your CT is that noisy and they can't fix it, I'd get a new one if that's an option. I'm shocked at how quiet my 2025 CT is compared to my 2018 Model 3.

It’s not that they couldn’t fix it; I’m sure replacing the drive unit would have taken care of it completely. But, they weren’t willing to because they said that it was within spec and nothing was abnormal about it. The only reason I knew it was louder than normal is because every loaner they ever put me in was much quieter.

But that’s all water under the bridge now. šŸ˜€

A big change was switching to a new structural adhesive (blue color).

On affected vehicles (all model year 2024 and 2025 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023 to February 27, 2025) the stainless steel panels may delaminate at the adhesive joint, which may cause the panel to separate from the vehicle.

This thread also points out some part number changes for quarter panels, fenders, etc. due to Teslaā€˜s constant refinement of their vehicles.

My pcs replacement at the Fife Tesla was a 2 day turn around with shipping the pcs taking the most time.

And I had a CT loaner … wasn’t really that big a deal.
Yea but when was that done, my guess is not in the last two weeks when PCS issues exploded.

Noticed that the other day. DS rear quarter panel was replaced recently. The DS has blue adhesive while the PS has gray adhesive.

My Aug 2025 production had two noise issues. They replaced a drive unit and that fixed motor noise. They reworked my left rear window and that fixed wind noise. I am happy with it now.

If you can turn a 2024 with 20,000 miles into a 2026 for $10,000 -it seems like a good idea except won't you lose lifetime free supercharging and FSD? That is the problem.

You’re lucky. It’s some type of quality control issue. The cybertruck is literally the noisiest vehicle I’ve ever owned. Most of the noise I experience is wind noise which seems to be bouncing off the windshield, multiple attempts all kinds of window adjustments, foam insulation, etc. to decrease unsuccessful. My wife finds it extremely annoying, and it’s obvious how loud it is. So again, either you’re lucky, or I’m unlucky, or maybe both!
Ours is quiet as well... Not as quiet as our Model Y, but our CT has All Terrain Tires! Other than tire/road noise, it's VERY quiet! Especially if you compare it to any other TRUCK!!

Remember, it is a TRUCK after all.

Crash protection in front was updated in mid 2025. I test drove several fs and thought the motors were more audible then other Teslas I had own/driven. I ended up buying an early 2025 instead of an inventory Fs and it’s been quiet in normal conditions. I had something updated with the driver door/mirror to help with high wind noise when I had the cantrails done. I tend to agree if you have free supercharging that is hard to get rid of. Afaik the fs fsd was never transferable because it was an included vehicle feature and not a user purchased option.
There was a non-safety manufacting change in mid 2025. The newer version was what was tested, so the testing calls that out. Older version should be just as good.

At some intervals of time, Tesla did allow transfer of FSD from FS trucks.
