Tile loads in a Cybertruck in -20°C is actually a pretty solid real-world test. Kind of surprised efficiency didn’t tank much with that weight and cold.

The impact in the cold is real, but very overblown! If you have a long winter trip (the only time winter range hit could even matter) and you preheat before you leave and keep speeds reasonable to the road conditions, the range hit is really minimal, especially compared to what all the EV naysayers claim (which is often 30-40%). Some of the range hit is due to the denser winter air, some due to winter winds and road conditions, and some due to leaving with a cold battery (which mostly goes away on a long trip as the battery gradually warms up). I do think that Tesla's in general, especially newer ones, have the winter range hit minimized compared to what owners of the Silverado/Sierra EV are reporting.
