I spoke w the adjuster for the repair shop my truck is being repaired at. She was also a cyber owner and she does not think the title will be totaled, but it will take a significant amount of time.

They do not drop battery packs so they’ll setup a service center visit in nearby anchorage(5 miles apart). Then back to the repair shop for the giga casting replacement and then back to service center for battery install then back to repair shop for final assembly and calibrations.

As far as legal compensation so far State Farm has covered all transport and bills. I also filed a claim for loss of use and am being reimbursed about $2k monthly.

What should I ask for the diminishing value?

Round robin some Ai platforms and ask them to present you with a fair dimished value, and if they are wildly different then consider hiring a specialist for it.

Otherwise, if they generally agree, then ask insurance to process a claim, and they should present you with a number first. Most of them outsource it to help with conflicts of interest.

Such laws vary wildly depending on your state.

How's the repairs going? Are you sure you want a repaired truck instead of a new one? I'd be concerned with the aluminum unibody that may have tiny stress fractures elsewhere that could get worse over time when driving over speed bumps or off-road rough terrain.

Sounds like great service!

We got rear-ended back in March. Make sure you get an attorney ASAP and ask for the devaluation of your truck as part of the settlement because the accident will forever be tied to your VIN.

We got $14k for devaluation and you should too.

I have made another CT order in case totaled but idk if I can get financed again. My credit is like 680 and the last offer from Tesla was 25k down I don’t have the cheese. Maybe I would with the devalue claim, but I only see me getting 10k from the payout after financing paid off still at 59k balance.

Also getting a new ct is another headache logistically in Alaska they no longer do boats from Seattle delivery so I have to get a passport and drive the Alaskan highway from Seattle to Fairbanks Alaska a 2300 mile trip.

I typed in Nome in my nav just see see the trip time from home and apparently there no way to drive there. So much for panning nome gold in the cyber.

Definitely get an attorney to help you get a better payout from their at fault insurance. Do not handle it yourself. Asking for devaluation should help you with the new down payment. I always have a hitch installed even when not towing, to mitigate people accidently rear ending me.

I really want to drive that trip and back to the PNW. If you do end up doing it, make a post to see if others are available at that time to join. TFL did the Alaskan highway to Deadhorse with their F150 Lightning review a couple years ago. The SCer network wasn't as built out as it is now. I'll still throw a genny in the bed for emergencies which I already do when going to the Cascades/Idaho Panhandle/Lolo/Yellowstone national forests for camping.

$5500 from Tesla
$7800 to re-wrap the whole truck.

We have a directional, color shift wrap and if you’re ever considering wrapping I would highly recommend going that way. If we had a solid color wrap, insurance would have only replaced the wrap from the damaged panels no matter how old/faded the wrap was.

Yes my plans would be to get a generator in Seattle or Canada for cheaper than Alaska, I have a 9600 here at home it charges at 6kw or 11mph for about 3 hours on 6 gallons. Terrible efficiency lol but it worked for last summers trip across the Denali highway with no plug in options available.

I’ve also never driven that far in such a short amount of time, ideally if I could average 400 miles a day it would be just shy of a week. Good news is I fully trust fsd until the road conditions get potholes and frost heaves. I will definitely be filming this journey and making a YouTube series if this is even possible to make happen.
