Cybertruck Tire Size Options What Do You Choose?

I really tempered my expectations at the reveal at was pleasantly surprised. I continued to temper them when Battery Day was coming and many were hoping the new battery tech was going to push the CT well past the mileage numbers previously revealed. I assumed they already knew where the tech...

Cybertruck Tire Size Options What Do You Choose?

You can do whatever you want. I just said show me. You said some use tech and materials that enhance strength and make it lighter. So show me. Like everyone else who owns a truck I think we'd all like to see how to make a useful 40" truck wheel set up lighter then 35" set up. Why didn't you...

Cybertruck Tire Size Options What Do You Choose?

This conversation was about already large truck tires. If you want to add rims to the conversation, OK. I'm still not buying it. We are not talking about tire and rim combos you can put on a car. They need to be able to handle a load and off-roading. Show me a case where you can upgrade...

Cybertruck Tire Size Options What Do You Choose?

Anyone who has ever put bigger tires on their truck would agree with you. My stock F150 went from ~18 MPGs to about 15.5 MPGs after I leveled it and put 35s on it. Stock tires were 275/65/r18. They were about 32" x 11". So 10% larger tire decreased my MPGs ~ 15%. So...all things being...

    New steering wheel hint?

I've tried to stay open minded about the center console only display (no speedometer behind the steering wheel). I know many with the M3 don't see this as an issue, but I just can't get on board with this. I know my actual speed isn't a real issue when I'm driving in the city, as I rarely look...

    Justify the cost to own

I analyze every major purchase I buy...even some of the smaller purchases. Analysis paralysis is a real thing. My wife loves it!! It is rarely a matter of if I can afford it, but rather how I can afford it or do I want to afford it. To me, it's not a matter of "If you want the Cybertruck...

What is your make-or-break Cybertruck feature?

    500+ miles. Range still king.

    Justify the cost to own

I know the $76k isn't out the door costs. Neither was the $32k. $100/mo might be low but it's about 25% higher then what I pay now. It's an estimate. If someone has a better estimate for what the CT3 will cost to insure, please post it. I think we are all waiting for Tesla Insurance to go...

    Justify the cost to own

Good for you! Keep it up. Yikes...you must be young. My insurance is $77/month for my truck and averages about $80/month across all 3 vehicles. All with full coverage and low deductibles ($500 per vehicle).

    Justify the cost to own

Definitely not scraping by. Can afford the truck even by the Dave Ramsey rules. Just generally very frugal when it comes to buying vehicles. I generally buy 2-3 yr old vehicles and hold for 200k+ miles. Posted the question, because I wanted to see how other people worked it out in their...

    Justify the cost to own

Trucks are expensive. I know. I've always owned them. The CT (tri-motor in particular) is not cheap. For those willing to lay it out there, I would like to see the pure math argument for ownership. I know there are environmental concerns and other wholistic arguments about the way Tesla does...

How many are buying CT that DONT actually NEED a truck?

I just did some quick adding in my head for the number of days a year I use my truck as a truck. Where I need it for hauling, towing, or ground clearance (I currently have a 2" lift and 35s on my F150 which I had added a while back because I was bottoming out on some of the roads I hunt)...

How many are buying CT that DONT actually NEED a truck?

Define "...need a truck". Ever since I bought my first truck I've needed a truck. 90% of the time I don't need the bed, but when I do, I do and I'm glad I have it. I don't have to ask a friend, rent a truck, rent a trailer, or pay extra to have something delivered. And when I want to rent a...

Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

I don't care if they do or don't. I'm just curious if they will. I don't think any vehicle has ever been produced without some sort of badge.

Wolfspeed: ready to support a booming EV industry with SiC power and charging solutions

I've had the drinking conversations with equally ignorant people as myself on the subject, wondering about why we can have watches and other small products that can recharge on small amounts of kinetic movement, but this doesn't seem to be effective for large uses like cars even though there's...

Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

Not sure how you can say you'd be out if you don't know what the major changes might be. What if you like the changes even more. Like most of us, not looking for the tight world truck, I'm not looking for it to get any smaller. I just want to start seeing some confirmed changes & final specs.

Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

This is great news. I was emailing another CT reservation holder this morning saying; "I'm most interested in seeing what the final product is going to look like. There's going to be some design changes (mirrors?...windshield wiper(s)...will it be more rounded at all?...will there be any...

5 Yr timeline, EV truck market poll

I define a "truck" as something with a bed. Not vans, not SUVs. I tired to capture as many of those, that might be available as possible. I guess I should say, I was also only looking at EVs that would be parked at a house. I'm not polling for EV dump-trucks, or semi-trucks even though they...
