  1. Towing Airstream for Mother’s Day - Speed is Key

I think it’s software controlled. Someone here said this capability will be added in the future through software update. I hope that’s true. It’ll be great to charge CT and power trailer at the same time.
  2. Towing Airstream for Mother’s Day - Speed is Key

I love my airstream Basecamp 20X. It’s so lightweight and nimble that you can take it to most campgrounds. Though it has wet bath, the grey and black tanks are separate, unlike Bambi, and the tanks can stay heated if you need for cold temperatures. Basecamp is just perfect. Some don’t like the...
  3. Towing Airstream for Mother’s Day - Speed is Key

Love this trip report. Thanks for sharing. This is the type of towing I’ll be doing, but with a smaller Airstream trailer. We need real owners’ experience like this to encourage other CT owners to confidently tow. There is so much negativity out there in claiming that Ct is not a good tow...
  4. Tow hook threads are exposed

Ugh! That’s not good. Hope we get an accessory soon or someone shares a 3D file to print a cap for that hole.
  5. 500 Miles on my Cyber Truck. 400 of them towing a car. Do I need a weight distribution hitch?

I hope someday Tesla adds live axle load information and warn users when loads exceeds safety. WDs are incredibly useful to balance axle loads and improves safety, but it’s important to know that when OEMs publish tow ratings, they do account for axle load bearing capacity without using WD hitch...
  6. 500 Miles on my Cyber Truck. 400 of them towing a car. Do I need a weight distribution hitch?

WD for Cybertruck is a great question to research about. I have the high end Hensley hitch that I use for my airstream. I want to know whether I need it for the CT. I’m aware of all the advantages of WD. I have heard that WD hitches can mess with the software. As the tongue weight changes...
  7. Towed a 10,400 pound generator today!

I agree! Most contractors I deal with do less than 100 miles towing a day. They don't take their dump trailer or toy hauler everyday home, which could be 50+ miles away from their work site. When it comes to small business, I 100% agree with @HaulingAss - towing is limited to within 50-100 mile...
  8. Video: Backing up to trailer hitch with Cybertruck

I hope one day FSD will self hitch CT, just like self park or Summon feature.
  9. Why only 11,000 lbs towing?

Manufactures do different types of testing before coming up with those numbers. It’s not based on just engine torque/payload. Suspension, safe breaking distance, understeer/oversteer values based on skid plate testing, axle rating, tire strength, and a lot more come into play. We saw CT won the...
  10. Cybertruck hauling hay bales

Finally someone is using the Cybertruck the way it’s supposed to be used! It’s a perfect work truck around ranches and Barns: Tight turning radius, no fumes in enclosed spaces, not prone to dents, power outlet if needed, adjustable height, good music (animals do love it), awesome torque to tow...
  11. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

I agree! I have spoken with that owner too several times. He is well known in Airstream EV towing world. I hope he gets his hands on a CT soon. He will have several interesting data points to share. I generally say that RV towing range is highly dependent on your rig. It’s hard to deduce a...
  12. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

I researched about it before buying Basecamp. At that time, they didn’t have much service options in west coast. Minor repairs on RVs are inevitable, especially in the first few years. So it’s good to stay close to the service shop.
  13. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

I love towing my Basecamp 20X. It’s very nimble and lightweight. I don’t see a significant drop in the mileage, but I haven’t towed it with any EVs yet.
  14. Cybertruck rescues a Ford F-150 stuck in snow

Finally the debt is paid off, and we are even! :D
  15. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

Good to know Airstream trailers improve range by 10-20%. Are you looking to buy immediately? I highly recommend renting the model that you want to buy before pulling the trigger to purchase. You will learn a lot when you spend couple of days in the unit that you want to buy. I originally wanted...
  16. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

~115 miles based on the stats shared by Eric in this video. Math: Average of uphill + downhill Wh/mi = (774 + 1363)/2 = 1068.5 Wh/Mi. CT's 122.5 KW / 1.0685 = 114.6 Miles. Given that CT's towing range is dependent on so many variables (aerodynamics, temperature, payload, terrain, etc.), the...
  17. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

Aww man! Ok, please reach out to these guys - https://www.letsgosilver.com/. Tell them the owner of new Basecamp 20X referred you. They will know. The company owner is super nice and very responsive. I just sent him an email to give heads up. They can also deliver the trailer to your area if...
  18. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

YES! It'll be a big hit among CT + AS communities. Two shiny metal toys in perfect harmony. I have rented my airstream at a local rental place. Please reach out to me if you are interested to rent an airstream (near Tracy, CA) to try with CT. They have around 20 different types of Airstreams...
  19. Cybertruck towing 7,000 lb travel trailer

Love it! Thanks for posting. One of the best things about pull through chargers is that you can spend time in the trailer resting/eating while charging, and you can even use CT as power source for your trailer (that's possible, right?). I really hope Tesla expands pull through super chargers...
  20. TFL tests CT towing

Yeah drag makes a huge difference. This is one of the main reasons I went with Airstream. There are SO many factors to consider when it comes to towing range. That’s why I always take towing range test with a grain of salt. My benchmark is 120 miles with 80% battery capacity with a fully loaded...
