  1. Brutally Honest CyberTruck Review: 2 Months & 4,000 Miles Later

Did they finally come out with a homelink solution?
  2. Doug Demuro Reviews Cybertruck: This Is Just Plain Cool

Random rant: What is it with these reviewers and this BS label "lifestyle truck"? Edmunds doing the same. What exactly is a "lifestyle" pickup according to the truck-use legitimacy police like Doug Demuro and Edmunds? Is it just "lifestyle" pickup use if you need it to carry stuff smaller than...
  3. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Yes, WT4 and WT3 are being delivered. Testing: 232 miles towing 6500 lbs Testing 514 miles range in mostly highway on WT4
  4. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Silly straw man argument. You do not need a miracle. I was expecting Tesla to be able to deliver a truck that was at least competitive with GM. It did not. I would have bought the vehicle if it was 80% of GM's real-world highway range (not even close) or towing range or charging speed but it is...
  5. Tesla's First Dud: State of Charge x Kyle Conner (Out of spec) talks Cybertruck vs. Lightning & Rivian R1T

One should be appropriately cautious about the 2 million reservations. Just a reminder of recent history: Dec 2021 - "Ford says it now has nearly 200,000 reservations for F-150 Lightning, or 3 years of backlog" June 2022 - Ford to expand Lightning production to 150,000 per year. December 2022...
  6. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

I just note that it is an early warning indicator that people are reluctant to give the boss bad news. It is that latter issue (not the CT itself) that is a harbinger of a difficult future IMO.
  7. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Model 3 70 mph range test in 2019 was 290 miles. Of course model 3 has a huge advantage of being able to charge waaaaay faster than the CT due to its efficiency. Even an 2019 M3 can add 200 miles of real world range (10% - 80%) in 25 minutes.
  8. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

All of the above tells me there is a critical failure warning light flashing at Tesla. I am a long-time Tesla shareholder, owner of three Teslas, huge advocate of the company and all around fan. (I recently and reluctantly cancelled the CT FS because the range would not meet my needs.) But I am...
  9. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

When you Google things and cannot understand what you read, "you just make yourself look dumb." EPA Highway range for the Rivian R1T 2023 Model with 20" AT tires is what, anyone, anyone, let's check.... 289 miles Inside EVs Range Test "The Rivian R1T tested by Kyle Conner was equipped with...
  10. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Silverado EV two work trucks big battery (24 module) = 450 miles, smaller battery (20 modules) = 393 miles. Consumer RST Launch version still unofficial at 400 miles.
  11. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

I have an early reservation for a launch edition Silverado RST. They will be able to start using Superchargers 1st half of this year (adapter). With a range of 400 miles, it is much more compelling as a $100k truck. And an R1T is (IMO) much more compelling at its pricepoint as well (though...
  12. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

This is the rub, however. On a supercharger you are not going to be able to charge to more than 85% without very long charging cycles, and one really needs to leave 10% as a buffer, so you are realistically at ~190 usable range in this test which is in flat terrain with a new, maximum capacity...
  13. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Tesla uses a legal but extremely optimistic approach to its correction factor that boosts its EPA range above what other manufacturers do. As a result, you will see, for example that a Model Y has 330 miles EPA range vs a Mach-E 310 miles. In WLTP testing, however, where both vehicles are tested...
  14. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

Whoa. Let's not start calling people "liars." I am assuming you are saying that the Rivian data is inaccurate? It is true that this Rivian test was done in warmer weather The Rivian on 20" AT Tires had an EPA Rated range of 289 https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=46312&#tab1...
  15. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

I am out as well. Its real world range will not allow me to practically drive from Houston to NW Arkansas (there is a 203 mile gap in SCs between Denison and Fort Smith which means an hour plus at Denison charging to 95% in the hopes of making it). I am hoping that I can just defer the purchase...
  16. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

The 320 already has the deduct for the AT tires. The Road tires are rated at 340. Rivian on AT at the 70 mph range test actually achieves it EPA range.
