  1. Anyone considering getting Solar with the new Green Act

I just signed a contract with Blue Sky Solar and Roofing via Chase Fowler who coordinates the financial and logistical side of the purchase/installation. Everybody would agree that Charging the CT via the sun, would provide the lowest operating cost (leaving out the cost of the solar system)...
  2. Who Else is Hoping for a Redesign for Wife's Acceptance?

Wife said; “Why do you need a computer?”. I said; “It’s the future honey, everybody is gonna have one”. Wife said; “Why do you need a cellphone?, I said; “it’s the future honey, everybody is gonna have one”. She don’t ask anymore, she’s just goes with it.😀
  3. Are we thinking there will be a re-shuffle of orders?

I’m curious, why wouldn’t there be some sort of “re-shuffle” as we get closer to delivery. Are we suggesting that every person who have placed an order will still be alive at the time of delivery? I know this ole timer is wondering if he’ll still be alive by then?
  4. First look at the Cybertruck’s 8,000-ton Giga Press!

To many 8,000 tons is merely a number. To me... an retired underground Longwall Automation Engineer, it’s more like; “Oh My God” what a beast. Longwall Roof Supports contain (2) 350mm bore Hydraulic cylinders requiring some 4,500 psi to achieve something around 1,100 tons of pressure. Folks...
  5. Update VOTE: Should we do a “Cybertruck Lightbar "Wave"?”

Only neighborly thing to do round here is to wave at most folks you pass by. Not sure anyone will notice my wave while driving the CT cause they’ll be checking out the truck as I pass by.
  6. Wow! Buying a Tesla....best experience ever! Even at the dealer and when not a preorder!

Great story and thanks for sharing, I’ve always said; “The PEOPLE working for the company makes the difference”. I truly hope Tesla continues to realize that and invest in their employees as time moves on. Looking forward to meeting these fine people when I go to pickup my CT.
  7. The cost of driving an EV?

Soooo, last year we leased the new 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, being a nutcase on data, I tracked the actual mileage this vehicle realized over a year (58.5mpg). It’s the wife’s car and she is now boasting her Hybrid will out perform my CT on fuel cost per mile. Fuel in our area was, (big...
  8. Purchase Sight Unseen...?

I only once ordered something before, 2006 HD Screamin Eagle Vrod Destroyer, traveled to the Dakota’s to set on that bad boy before I took delivery. I’ll do the same with my CT, don’t much care where I gotta go but I’ll; “Set in the Bad Boy before I take delivery”. Who knows, I may even get to...
  9. Cybertruck Rims?

My CT won’t see any curbs, a rock or a log most likely, not a curb. I would have suspected the height of the tire would be much taller than the curbs anyways? IDK, my trucks always jump the dang curb not rub rims.
  10. Cybertruck-Making it uniquely yours.

I’m gonna ask for the signature version; “To Pappy, enjoy cause it’ll be the last Truck you’ll ever need, Signed Elon Musk That will make it Unique enough for this old coal miner.
  11. Alex on Autos: The truth about EVs and Solar

I am very interested in a PV system and was quoted panels with micro inverters. The single most important issue to me was; “I was told that I would not have power if the grid was down”. That in itself killed the deal. I want power if/when the grid fails. I want to be responsible for my own power...
  12. Alex on Autos: The truth about EVs and Solar

Thank you, my power company offers and I currently use the reduced TOU rate. Monthly average is at .18 per kWh? I’ve not researched others to see how my rate compares.
  13. Engineering Explained: If Gas cars are banned, Can The Grid Handle Electric Cars?

Interesting discussion but it seems a bit dated as he states at least twice “In 2020”? Locally, I’ve watched coal fired power plants shut down without a sustainable solution to replace that energy. I’ve watched population growth across the states? Recently issues in Texas basically shut down the...
  14. Alex on Autos: The truth about EVs and Solar

Maybe this is the place for my thoughts; Speaking in terms of Grid reliability and those cost associated with failure as seen most recently in Texas. What if; assume for a second that ICE vehicles give way to the battery powered vehicles in the future. What happens to the Grid when everybody...
  15. Tesla Files to use new millimeter-wave radar on FSD cars.

I’m old enough to remember the first “McQuter”, that’s right people couldn’t get the name right. Then the cellphone, or Bagphone, whatever, tube type tv’s, and bulky cameras that required a visit to the local shop to get your film developed. FSD, He’ll Yea!!! I’m all in and hope I live long...
  16. Elon Musk's internet via satellite arouses the interest of Deutsche Telekom

When will it hit the US market? Will it be affordable? Us folks out in the wild blue yonder need high speed data at affordable prices. Thanks Elon fer fixin’ all the stuff that ales us.
  17. Tesla Files to use new millimeter-wave radar on FSD cars.

Does anyone else’s brain hurt after reading all these post? It just need to work, we all don’t need to know how it works. Where’s my CT at, if I whistle real loud can it come to me?
  18. Elon and Cybertruck

Signature version? call me weird whatever, I want Elon to personally sign my CT, “To Pappy, enjoy the hell outta this truck cause it’ll be the last truck you’ll ever need”
  19. If you could request three factory add-ons, what would they be?

Not for me, But.... what about our “Wounded Warriors”. Wheelchair access? Maybe up the tailgate into the driver compartment? Wheelchair storage? Hand control rather than foot controls. Other ideas, anyone? Course all would be options but may be great to incorporate into the original design.
  20. Post your Cybertruck preorder reservation number!

My number comes up 95,367 for trim but 284,086 est. position, what’s up with that?
