  1. Recall: Drive Inverter Failures on 2024 Cybertrucks Produced 11/6/23 – 7/30/24 (Affects 2,431 vehicles)

I drive a MS and a couple weeks ago, I felt a little jolt and a message on the dash came on and told me that the front axel drive has failed and I can continue to drive but the there is a 83mph speed limit. I wonder this is also a power driver failure also.
  2. My ultimate EV dream - inductive charging

11.5KW inductive charger will still need some serious work. How it will be initiated, how it does trickle charging and whether it will generate EMI or heats any magnetic material near it. We just have to wait to see more specifications. Does the CT have receiving coils?
  3. My ultimate EV dream - inductive charging

Resonance is still magnet, just at higher efficiency. 4000mAh is 40 watt hour, assuming resistive load. I believe phone have batteries that are usually 40+ watt hours so about one hour+ to charge, not counting the BMS charging limits at low charge and at high charge, making it more than one hour.
  4. My ultimate EV dream - inductive charging

Wireless charging is very inefficient. Just note how the phone docking ports on the CT work or not work. That is only to charge a phone. Tesla will have do more work on that. It may be at location and a charging coils elevate to be close to car to make efficient charging. Transferring...
  5. The Most Amazing Story of the Year involving Tesla

No electrocution and no sharks. What happened? Did facts got in the way of politics.?
  6. Crack in gigacast panel from factory

I may have used the wrong term. Die Casting is the proper term for injection molding at high pressure of aluminum or zinc. Cast iron is liquid iron poured into a mold and not injected at high pressure. Your links explain that well. I have worked on products where liquid aluminum was injected...
  7. Crack in gigacast panel from factory

It is injection molded and not casted. Injection molding is done under high pressure. Giga casting is really injection molding at giga pressures, high pressure needed due to the size of the structure.
  8. Crack in gigacast panel from factory

I believe the whole casting is defective. Missing metal means that there is probably porousity in rest of casting, I would demand a replacement.
  9. No AC Charging??

Then the current limiter in CT is not working correctly.
  10. No AC Charging??

Did you limit the charging amperage to less than the breaker amperage? In my MS, the charging menu in the car, the amperage maximum can be limited.
  11. Cybertruck Performance Brakes coming soon? Spotted in Service Manual

The regenerative process should do most of the work without over heating brakes much like engine braking except better. The actual braking with pads occurs mostly to keep car motionless at stops. I think the tires will start skidding before the brake capability of the stock brakes are reached...
  12. Cybertruck Performance Brakes coming soon? Spotted in Service Manual

If stock brakes are doing fine why would performance brakes improve?
  13. Cybertruck Delivery Hold Until April 23 -- Tesla Dealership Associate

Tesla does not have dealers. You were probably at a Tesla show room.
  14. Cybertruck cost analysis

Monroe is expecting to get 500k-750k miles for truck life. Not sure ICE trucks can do that. No oil changes, radiator fluids, transmission, spark plugs, exhaust system (think catalytic converter stolen), brake pads, and others lower maintenance features will make EV truck very desirable.
  15. No Idea Where's The Problem From ...

I have executed an update while parked at work place parking lot so it is possible. What are people who live in apartments and do not park nearby do to get their updates?
  16. No Idea Where's The Problem From ...

WiFi connection definitely make software updates much faster and more reliable. We have WiFi extender in garage.
