    Tax incentive

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/ev-tax-credits-legislation-tesla-gm/ Does this mean Tesla would be phased out because they sell more than 50% EVs?

    A More Useful Frunk

I agree but expect the exoskeleton frame to create some interesting vibration and noise scenarios.

    A More Useful Frunk

Thanks for the picture. I haven’t seen it. It looks just like this 1934 Chevy frame. Disappointed that an engineer would call this new. The second picture attached is a Model X skateboard. Significant difference. I have not seen a Cybertruck frame (bottom of the truck I know the outside is the...

    A More Useful Frunk

I did not intend to Ford bash. I drive an F150 and it is the best riding truck I have ever owned. On Michelin’s it rides better and quieter than many cars. I applaud their efforts here. I do think they are short of a good mark. Mainly range and charging network. Using an old body with a wall...

    A More Useful Frunk

We will see. I may be surprised, but it looks like a standard truck frame with batteries added in between. If it is a skateboard frame built around a battery, I will eat my words. If it was the later, I think they would have mentioned it at the reveal.

    A More Useful Frunk

I expect the CT to use up to 450 wh/mi depending on tires. I estimate the F-150 will use 550-600 wh/mi. The biggest disappointment for me with the F-150 is that it is a converted ICE. This means poor efficiency, less efficient use of space, and less than ideal driving dynamics.

Vehicle to Home (Ford Figured it Out)

Ford positives: 1) home backup power 2) price 3) respectable specs 4) nice frunk IMO the only one that should concern Tesla is the home backup power. Tesla could enable this and vehicle-to-vehicle power fairly easily. Tesla has already said they can’t make enough Powerwalls. This relieves some...

    F150 Lightning Predictions

I hope to travel states away. Up to 600 miles a day. Hopefully that is two stops a day to charge Cybertruck tri-motor. F-150 would need at least three. I agree with your remote camping statement.

    F150 Lightning Predictions

I agree. 53K doesn’t include extended range. I think some of the other options shown/mentioned will also be ala-carte. I hope to pull a camper. I need more than 300 mile range.

    F150 Lightning Predictions

Not sure the $52K includes extended range battery. Means range would be 230 mi.

Tesla Cybertruck beats F-150 Lightning and Hummer EV in US electric truck survey

I liked the F-150 Lightning overall. Negatives which keep me planning on a Cybertruck is horsepower, range, charging network.

    F150 Lightning Predictions

I agree. If there wasn’t a Tesla, we would not be having a BEV reveal. It would be PHEV. Tesla is keeping all the legacy auto makers honest. Think Nissan Leaf and Prius. That is where we were going before Tesla. Pathetic electric and great PHEV.

Cybertruck vs F-150 Ownership Cost Comparison

I disagree. It is designed to compete against the F150. It has such great specs it can compete against an F250. To truly compete against an F250, it must pull goose neck and fifth-wheel trailers. In my opinion it will also need to go 400-500 miles pulling a full load. It will take Cybertruck...

Tesla Cybertruck beats F-150 Lightning and Hummer EV in US electric truck survey

I think the people in this truck will be very safe.

    Towing Camping Trailers

I would expect 150 mile range +\- depending on weight and aero. That means realistically ~100 miles. You won’t want to go to zero pulling a camper. Pretty limiting except for local trips. I have a camper and decided to bump up to the tri-motor from a dual motor. I hope to get 250 miles out of...

RAM TRX pickup spotted at Fremont plant for Cybertruck benchmark testing

I agree. That is what makes it such an awesome truck! Electric drivetrain makes much more possible with trucks and cars. I hate seeing OEMs throttle back their electrics to be no better than their ICE offering.

RAM TRX pickup spotted at Fremont plant for Cybertruck benchmark testing

Woo hoo! Nothing like beating the best (beast) ICE out there. It is physics. These kind of comparisons lead to change when the gas guys can’t compete with their best efforts.

RAM TRX pickup spotted at Fremont plant for Cybertruck benchmark testing

That needs to wait for Cybertruck Heavy Duty. The Cybertruck is meant to compete with F150, Chevy 1500 and Dodge 1500.

Jeep shows working prototype EV... With manual transmission?

The screens look like a hybrid. Not a BEV.
