The CT seems delicate -- barely able to just drive around. And a plow creates so much weight and often so much strain -- that I think is why Tesla doesn't offer a plow or even dedicated mounts for one. Which is why my interest in the CT has changed to how do I get my deposit back!
Of course. Insurance, Sure. Won't cost you a cent, right?
Just ask your insurer or agent about the total fallout from making one legitimate claim. Lose a no-claims discount? See your rates increased -- by how much and for how long? Make any further claim and risk that at expiry-time they...
That might work if most of your driving is plowing and you need only a few inches of up/down. But if it's mostly roading, I doubt you'd be happy in a tilted truck.
If the Teslarati don't offer an option for a front and/or rear plow that can be tilted and raised/lowered, I'd expect order...
To avoid rusting, apparently the owners manual warns of the need to wash off salt after driving in it. A main reason I ordered the CT was to not have to worry about road salt. Body's bullet proof but don't let salt get on it? Am I buying a summer truck?
You could try offering a further deposit (non-refundable) and asking for a week or two to arrange to get the balance, during which time the seller can display your CT.
I've not heard of any maker that cancels the delivery charge to customers who pick up their vehicle right from the assembly line. And if Tesla does that, I'll -- well I don't know what I'd do but it doesn't matter because there's no chance.
I have such a roof-mounted lightbar on my Jeep. At a stoplight, a cop came over and told me that if I were caught on a public roadway with my "Baha light" turned on, I'd be in trouble.
Not sure about Canadian lighting regs, but do know that every printed word (labels on car, electronic display, owners manual (if supplied) -- all wording -- has to be shown or made available in French as well as English. And Quebec authorities might insist that vehicles sold there must have...
One school of thought says not for ages. Evidence: not a peep about prices, models, availability. Maybe Tesla is concerned about a backlash, such as over the Canadian cost, or from problems with the Canadian winter, such as range, or opening the door when ice-covered.
Alternately, the...
Further to your last note, don't forget that Tesla converts to Canadian with any formula it decides, then adds over $1000 for delivery. To that total, Canada adds 13% taxes -- plus another 10% tax on the amount over C$100k. So I expect the C$ price for the dual to be at least $150,000.
If most of those bypassing the single-motor did so only because they need 4WD, maybe Tesla would offer a 4WD single -- in order to offer a low-cost model.
Two factors that have nothing to do with the product attract me to buying a Tesla. One, of course, is the ease of their hassle-free buying procedure.
The other relates to Tesla's lack of advertising. With other brands, If you find how much they spend on promotion annually, and divide the...
Question Please
The specs indicate "Maximum Tongue 499 kg." I assume this means that an opening for a trailer hitch, and the electrics for it, are included.
What does that weight refer to? The downward force at the tongue ("tongue weight") -- or the weight of what's pulled (loaded trailer)...
The downside of extra range is a heavier battery. There may be circumstances where a heavier CT has advantages, but generally I'd say lighter is better.
QUESTION: I think I read here that if Tesla tells you it's delivery time for you, and you reply that you're not quite ready to buy, your place goes to the next one on the list. What if they offer you, say, a three motor, and you reply that you'll wait for a one- or two-motor version? Would you...
