Stay firm for a 2025 model year. Don’t settle for a 2024 with an older VIN. My brother in FL drove by the Merritt Island SC yesterday and they had 30 Cybertruck’s on the lot. Makes you wonder if the Cybertruck is facing a demand problem.

The rumor was next generation of electric motors, new battery cells and close to 400 miles of range. Non of it panned out to be true. It‘s a refresh, not the next generation of the Model Y.

This poor Cybertruck lived a very, very hard life. Even if I won the truck in a raffle I would immediately list it for sale.

The refreshed Y should be a homerun for Tesla.

If it’s optional I’m OK with Tesla’s de-contenting strategy. I‘m not surprised by the move. I remember Lars stated during an interview that leadership may make the tonneau cover optional on the RWD trim to help keep it affordable.

The Big three have huge margins selling full size trucks. They can easily afford discounts, rebates, etc. to help move the metal. I’m sure the margins are thinner on the CT.

$1600 is too small of a discount to consider a 2024. For me it would need to be around $5k off MSRP. Go for the 2025 model. My local SC zip code shows 33 CT’s available for immediate delivery, all 2024’s. This tells me CT sales must be slowing down.

My local SC shows 33 2024 CT's available for immediate delivery. Some are new, some are demo's. The least expensive one is a demo with 962 miles for $77,360.

I doubt if Tesla will pull the de-contenting route when releasing the RWD version. It would complicate production, something Tesla is against.

I’m guessing new VIN’s are in the 60,XXX range about now.
