I like doing things in often remote places. There are frequently no hotels. I don’t want to sleep in my truck. I want to ride a trail on the far side of Oregon or Washington.
Sleeping in my truck is what I do in order to enjoy that. Right up therewith being strong enough to climb hills on my...
So many unanswered questions I need answers for before I figure this puzzle out. Solar is definitely a thing for me, just a little worried about cost and delays.
I was just looking at some efficient trailers, but man they get pricey quick.
I know this is an old thread...
I knew it was thick, but seeing it visualized is a little mind boggling. This is going to be a beast.
Off-roading and you bump into a boulder and dent the boulder instead of the truck.
Definitely not going to be pussyfooting through the brush worried about...
There are some trailer makers who are adding regenerative braking. I thought Airstream was one.
Yeah, the more I think about trailers, the more I feel they need to pull their own weight a bit. They wouldn't need to be full on independent EVs, but a 10-30 kWh battery for pushing on hills and...
Here is a thought.
The charging system in the towed vehicle only engages when the lead vehicle is braking or going downhill. Then you are leveraging the "drag brake" effect to your benefit instead of it working against you.
This is what they are talking about doing with some trailers.
I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this, but I doubt Tesla is doing any engineering on this quad.
It's outside their mission and little more than a distraction/ sideshow. Much like the flame thrower and the Tequilla, they are going to outsource the whole project.
So any expectation that this...
This is not possible in any of the existing prototypes.
Someone suggested it to Musk and he said it was a good idea but it kind of seems unlikely.
We're just being optimistic. Likely setting ourselves up for disappointment.
Charging the batteries with your regen is like having a drag brake on the whole time you are driving down the highway. Why are you even bothering with an EV if you are going to burn twice as much gas driving down the highway in your RV to move around when you get there?
If you're going to tow...
Without seeing the bill it's hard to say.
Last credit I believe was cut off at the dealership.
My Oregon credit has some stipulations about keeping the car registered "in state" for 2 years. Its not entirely clear if it means I need to keep it for that entire time or not.
Either way, be...
