Really not bad. I forget the cost of the same thing for the Rivian R1T/S, but it was north of $1k since the camera is part of the front facia, so that entire section has to be replaced.
Super interesting @CybertruckCovers , good job on getting this far.
In terms of the 'magnets', is it a similar concept to the magnetic signs you can get for cars? but giant, and precisely cut? So every part of the underlying surface is magnetic? I think I use something similar, in tape form...
The cleaner the air around you, the longer it'll last :) .
Since we all have the AQI displayed on the screen now, we at least have some idea of that. For me, it's generally averaging between 50-60 (not great, not awful), and the one we have on our Highland has been installed for a little over 5...
Those alerts seem to be 'normal'. Whenever I look, I've got dozens just like that, it just seems to be very chatty. I asked the service guy once, but this was early on, and he said they were still dialing in the benchmarks to make the alerts less chatty.
V2 improves that, but even for V1, there's no reason to think that FSD is impacted. As best we can tell, it (FSD) always uses the default 1x setting, as there's no complaints from the truck about the rear camera visibility, and there certainly is if you obscure more of it.
Doesn't work. Nor does the Glaco wet hydrophobic treatment. We tried them all before going in the direction of a cover. Rain-X does have a product specifically meant for plastic, and it does help the water bead, but it's not hydrophobic enough for the water to fall off.
It's difficult to determine what's happened here. Obviously, there's been some water ingress, but there's no way to really know if it's an installation issue or an adhesive issue. But obviously it's not supposed to be that way. If it was a car wash that uses pressure washers as part of the...
I show the removal in the install video, but V1 uses VHB (black foam) adhesive, V2 uses a PVT (gel) adhesive. The easiest way to remove it is to pry it away with a trim tool, or even an old credit card or membership card, then 'roll' off any of the VHB residue with your thumb, and use the...
PM me your order details. We ship 98%+ of orders next day, anything taking longer than 3 days gets automatically escalated to me (and there's none of those right now), so something must be up.
Yup! it's been a busy few days getting the logistic of all of this sorted out. I've just hit send on all the emails, they take a while to deliver, but PM me if you don't see something in the next few hours. Anyone that purchased a V1 and didn't return/refund should get an email with a unique...
Yup. We've shipped v2's to all active subscribers and switched the listing as well, any orders since yesterday will get the V2. All the updates (and results) are detailed here, the pictures below illustrate the changes pretty well. TLDR; can't see the cover in zoom levels >0.8, or in the 'full'...
My take on this is that the CT was another Elon vanity projection/moon shot/whatever, the same as the Model X (it was basically designed around his then-family). That's not to say it's a bad thing, but like the MX, the CT has a narrow target audience, that's either still narrowing or maybe...
We're only guessing at this point, since it's the first stainless car since Delorean, and wraps have come a loooong way since then. But I do still think that any reputable product that uses a solvent-based acrylic adhesive will be fine. Paint obviously has a much smoother surface compared to the...
I hate how the Cybertruck has become so politicized, although this is the case for many things in the US these days. When we first got ours (a year ago), people loved it. You couldn't take a drive anywhere without talking to someone about it, or their kids going crazy over it. Fast forward to...
Agree with everything @TWRAPS said here. The max time ours has stayed wrapped with the same color was about 3 months. For me, removal was twice as easy after parking it in the sun, but it mostly came of clean every time (3M 2080 the first time, various PPF wraps for the others, not all...
I really wish Tesla would re-add the rolling stop feature. I know the NTSB made them remove it (maybe that'll change with the new administration??), but my commute has maybe 15 stop signs, and it's really tedious, extremely rare anyone else is at the stop the same time I am, and even if there...
I'm the same, I try it most drives, but quickly getting annoyed by how it behaves. I'll also say that I find the M3 FSD generally better than the CT; not sure why, and version numbers are close enough, but the M3 set to 'hurry' mode takes no prisoners, but gets the job done well. The CT still...
Oh c'mon, it's not fud, lol. I've cut my head open 3x just wrapping the truck, being hit at 30mph would hurt a lot more than any other vehicle with a deformable front-end designed to be pedestrian friendly. i.e. the Model 3, with it's active hood.
It's not been tested because it would be a...
