  1. Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Absolutely right on about stomaching pre orders. I will say though that I firmly believe Tesla will deliver a pickup to market in America. The pie is just too big for Tesla to not want a slice happy early birthday to you sir! Unfortunately it isn’t just the production line, batteries need to...
  2. Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

I wouldn't count on that single motor CT. I bet they don't even produce it.
  3. Update from Elon: Cybertruck production starting late 2022 and volume production in 2023

Fires wouldn't be so bad if California started cleaning up their forests. Lots of unnecessary fuel. Yup. I was really hoping for summer 2022, but taking this into account, and Elons comment that production will be difficult because of all the new technology (and 4680's) I'm going to safely...
  4. Why I want Cybertruck in 50000 pictures or less

Hawaii would be the PERFECT place for a CT. Would love to do some exploring with one of those bad boys. Hope you're doing ok out there with all the Corona Virus stuff bro! I'm supposed to fly in to Honolulu mid September, but most likely cancelling the flight. When Ige says don't come, that's a...
  5. Pros/Cons of buying a CT (mostly fiscally related)

And a lot more could change when it actually releases.
  6. Pros/Cons of buying a CT (mostly fiscally related)

Curious… what are the alternatives? Don’t think there are any EV pickups on the market yet.
  7. Pros/Cons of buying a CT (mostly fiscally related)

Similarly price tooooo... other vehicles on the road made from Steel? Here in lies the problem with insurance, which is my number one concern. We don't even have an idea of what it might be. We do know that CT will have crumple zones (hasn't been formally stated, but c'mon, right?). So, what...
  8. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

You're right on all accounts. I agree with everything you said and I WANT ALL THAT STUFF! Only concern is WHEN will we get all that stuff, you know? Q3 2022? Q2 2023? hahaha that sad face says it all. And $200 in gas too? Ouch. I can't wait to take delivery of my Y. But, also CT so... 🤷‍♂️
  9. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

YES. I'm really hoping for updates. Would love to see final design. More info on door handles, windshield wipers, etc. And how about progress being made on assembly. An idea of when Elon thinks we can expect pre production? So I can add 6 months to it haha.
  10. Cybertruck takeaways from AI Day: coming in about a year & getting upgraded AI hardware for FSD

This, to me, is so overlooked. Cybertruck beats F150 lightning, for example, in just about every category. This is especially true when you take into account you probably won’t pay sticker because of dealer markups. See: Ford Bronco
  11. Cybertruck takeaways from AI Day: coming in about a year & getting upgraded AI hardware for FSD

another thing I’m curious about is testing. Is Tesla doing this now? There really are so many unanswered questions.
  12. Why I want Cybertruck in 50000 pictures or less

I’m not much of a camper, but I’m curious. Is camping in the Y enjoyable? It sure looks more comfy than a tent. Do you have shades for the windows?
  13. Cybertruck takeaways from AI Day: coming in about a year & getting upgraded AI hardware for FSD

If you've been following CT developments recently, this shouldn't have been a shock. 4680's, Elon saying CT production would be "hard," no sign of 8 ton giga press... we're AT LEAST a year out.
  14. Cybertruck takeaways from AI Day: coming in about a year & getting upgraded AI hardware for FSD

This is honestly a great point. Just because FSD CPU might not be ready doesn't mean they won't ship CT. Especially since they've done so in the past. If you believe the 1 million reservations for CT, Tesla has huge motivation to get these things into customers hands. Hey, at least we won't...
  15. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

I'm with ya Ogre. I REALLY hope Q3 2022! I found faith in what Elon said yesterday: "Obviously, there will be a Hardware 4 or Self Driving Computer 2, which we will probably introduce with the Cybertruck maybe in about a year or so. That will be about 4 times more a capable. Roughly." So clearly...
  16. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

I love knowing juice is going back into the battery. I also loved knowing I didn't have to (hardly) use my brakes and wear them down. After 3 days with it, it just felt natural to me. Driving was easier, imo. I agree with you in that auto steer is not perfect. I'd say I used it an hour in total...
  17. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

I’m within the first 1,000 orders, if the tracker is to be believed. While this is a nice position to be in, I still don’t have confidence I’ll get one within the next year, maybe even 2. There’s just so much that needs to happen to produce it, you know? Re 4680: I’d be ok getting a potential...
  18. I have CT reserved, but I rented a Y on Turo. My thoughts - and yours :)

With the Y now being backordered to January, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Here are my thoughts, as someone who has never owned a Tesla: -The Y I rented is a LR, white on white. -This thing is, IMO, GORGEOUS. I was initially turned off by the white interior, but man oh man do I...
  19. Cybertruck Photos and Videos Mega Thread!

im sorry! Certainly wasn’t my intention.
  20. Cybertruck Insurance Premium Cost?

Anyone got any guesses? Any insurance agents out there?
