  1. Foundation Series is BACK (in Tesla online inventory)!

I agree that the ride quality in the CT is amazing and it has a ton of utility and even efficiency for a truck, not to mention all the other features. I test drove one a few times, including one extended drive and itā€™s awesome. Ive owned two Ys, two 3s, and two Xs, and the CT is clearly...
  2. Foundation Series is BACK (in Tesla online inventory)!

Iā€™m personally not surprised that demand is limited at current prices, even considering the $80k CT. I just bought a new MY for over $30K less than I would have paid for the CT, plus I got no interest financing which I obviously wouldnā€™t have with the CT, effectively increasing the cost...
  3. Would a $7500 tax credit influence your Dual Motor CT purchase decision?

I think the variable medium to long term is whether CT ever goes international beyond NA. Knowing Tesla, theyā€™ll find a way to get approval, but if not prices are more likely to drop over time as they only have 2 countries plus Mexico which has to be quite a small market.
  4. Tesla now allowing for lease buy outs. Another demand lever.

By my calculation, leasing and then buying is now cheaper than financing, because of the tax credit and the new reduced lease rate. That seems like a good deal. Does anyone know if ā€˜25s are being delivered yet?
  5. Tesla now allowing for lease buy outs. Another demand lever.

the Rivian test drive was ok. I see why they are struggling while competing mainly with Tesla. I have even less faith now re: the companyā€™s solvency. compared to the CT, the R1S felt clunky. The 2.9 0-60 in the tri requires launch mode so it actually feels slower to me than the awd ct...
  6. Should I lease or finance?

the problem with financing now, for most buyers anyway, is no tax credit vs leasing with the tax credit. I donā€™t know if low financing is any better than the new lease rate (as of tonight) with the tax credit. Anyone else able to calculate the difference?
  7. Tesla now allowing for lease buy outs. Another demand lever.

Iā€™ve tested driven the CT and itā€™s great but like a lot of people, I only need a truck maybe once a year. Here are my considerations. For anyone reading this whose owned both vehicles, please chime in: The R1S is almost 2 feet shorter with obviously way more usable interior space. Turning...
  8. Tesla now allowing for lease buy outs. Another demand lever.

Btw, Iā€™m cross shopping with the Rivian R1S Tri and the lease transparency problem is the same- $500 deposit required to get all the details. I never thought Iā€™d consider Rivian but the R1S might just be more practical for my needs, especially car camping. Im test driving Saturday.
  9. Tesla now allowing for lease buy outs. Another demand lever.

The lease numbers on the website donā€™t make much sense to me or just lack details It defaults to $7500 down but then says ~$12k due at signing. Is the $7500 covered by the tax credit making $4500 due at signing? What if I want to buyout early, whatā€™s the penalty and what would my total out...
  10. $7500 Federal Tax Credit coming by years end? - says Tesla Rep

Youā€™re obviously right about the volatility but thatā€™s all the more reason to make the credit available asap and pull forward demand. Since it isnā€™t available, thereā€™s got to be another reason- ie Chinese components in the batteries, with stricter limitations coming in ā€˜25. Updating the supply...
  11. $7500 Federal Tax Credit coming by years end? - says Tesla Rep

i need a new vehicle soon and I want it to be the CT but Iā€™m waiting to see if there is EOY incentives, ie low financing rates like 3/Y. Iā€™m convinced that the tax credit isnā€™t coming because it would have happened by now. A lot of buyers were waiting for that so they need another demand...
  12. Is Cybertruck demand dwindling?

By that logic, might we see a price increase coming? It seems the current price was set because of the tax credit cap but if thatā€™s not going to be an issue, I have to wonder. If CT ever gets approved in the EU, that would be one factory supplying multiple countries. Just wondering.
  13. Is Cybertruck demand dwindling?

I hope youā€™re right. $98k out the door is a bit too steep for me to justify, especially since I suspect EOY deals might be imminent. I suspect that without the tax credit, demand isnā€™t quite matching supply although thatā€™s just a guess of course. instead of a discount, low financing rates...
  14. Why no $7500 credit for regular production AWD? Read the small print.

So maybe the credit is imminent. Sounds like a logistical nightmare, theyā€™d have to deliver the remaining non credit qualifying trucks to customers who donā€™t qualify for the credit so the qualifying trucks are available to customers who do qualify. I think theyā€™ve done similar for other...
  15. Why no $7500 credit for regular production AWD? Read the small print.

I spoke with a few different reps. None of them had any information about if or when the credit would be available.
  16. Why no $7500 credit for regular production AWD? Read the small print.

I was planning to wait for the credit but now I need a car sooner than I thought so Iā€™m getting close to ordering. The battery requirements get stricter for 2025 plus the credit is likely gone altogether at some point in ā€˜25 with the red wave. If the CT qualified as is then the credit should...
  17. Combining referral discount and early reservation discount for FSD?

my long deceased grandfather served almost 100 years ago. Does that count?(Iā€™m half serious, but I assume not)! do they actually check or is it mostly the honors system?
  18. Combining referral discount and early reservation discount for FSD?

Update, 2 different store reps told me I could stack both discounts. The only way to actually verify is to place an order. Iā€™m probably doing that soon. Iā€™ll report back or if someone else does, let us know!
  19. Combining referral discount and early reservation discount for FSD?

Me too. The rep over the phone thought I could. Iā€™m test driving today so Iā€™m gonna ask again and Iā€™ll report back if I get more information.
