I did the same thing by plugging it into my generator outlet and just flip on the breakers I want for two panels and the 3rd panel stays connected to let me know when the power is restored.

a suggestion, get a local electrician to do all of the upgrade work and prep work in advance and then have the Tesla installer only do the power share install.

i use the app when i travel to start the charge as needed while in the garage plug in if the battery is getting low. it would be nice if it would start charging again when the battery get low instead of stopping at 80 percent and then draining down to zero
