  1. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

Your battery pack will likely outlive the truck. With zero numbers to prove it, the vehicle is more like to die via an accident (totaled by insurances standards) before the battery craps out if as expected the pack will last 1 million miles. The general/public consensus is that life span is...
  2. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

He could open a separate union company that does the final assembly i.e., installs the Tesla badge. LOL
  3. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

Maybe Elon just sold all those share because he told the board "I want these features" and they said "No Elon" and he said "I don't care that it costs more, I will pay for it myself because it's what I want" and thus he is subsidizing the costs himself. Thanks Elon! Just saying. 🤔🤣
  4. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

Or one could argue that having 4 smaller motors could/should cost the same as 3 larger motors and thus don't muck around with the price....
  5. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

CT Plaid? And that still leaves room for a CT Plaid Plus down the road. :ROFLMAO:
  6. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

Yep, my bad on that. Going to edit my response to reflect it.
  7. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

I wouldn't be surprised if 650 is actually possible. Perhaps the 4th motor might even add in a bit more energy recovery for regenerative breaking. Add it a sprinkle or two of a few more chemistry tweaks via discovery or recent battery tech acquisitions over the past year since the 4860 was...
  8. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

So long as the design doesn't alter the timeline of the manufacturing equipment being readied, I don't see time creep YET. I also highly doubt this is something that was just decided on and it has likely been in the works for some time now but only now publicly announced/leaked. It may very...
  9. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

The CT4 option may also be an intentional offering to reduce the total number of high trim orders into a more reasonable amount that can be delivered at the start. Being Tesla likes to release the flagship option of its vehicles first. IDK but its a thought. 42% of folks opting in for the top...
  10. 🦀 Quad Motor Cybertruck and Crab Walk (Independent Front & Rear Wheel Steering) Confirmed!!

From a cost and manufacturing perspective, I would think that a x2 and x4 configuration would be almost identical other than the installation of how many motors and the battery itself. Everyone is going to have differing perspectives based on needs and pricing as far as Telsa's judgement on...
  11. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

A reduction in charging heat being generated should also mean more efficiency in the charging process. Basically meaning more the the electricity you are paying for ends up actually charging the battery and less of it being consumed as heat waste. This is something I rarely see discussed. It...
  12. Stellantis CEO gives up against Tesla?

My thoughts: The OEM's that are already in *DEEP* debt are having issues being able to spend the money needed to fund a complete retool of what would be needed in order to actually compete. I can imagine its hard to ask for money when your preexisting strategies based on financials look like...
  13. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

That is my suspension as well. I do not believe Tesla wants to show its hand yet to the competitors. Although at this stage of the game and the commitments that the OEM's have made into their EV truck projects, I do not believe they can change gears much once Tesla fully announces the specs.
  14. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

From: https://www.tesmanian.com/blogs/tesmanian-blog/teslas-4680-batteries-that-will-last-a-million-miles-are-already-here Back in October, the head of Tesla's battery research team, Jeff Dahn, shared some details of his research during an Energy Storage & Sustainable Engineering...
  15. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

That is what I understand as well. Meaning electrons flowing into the battery needs to flow over far less of the battery (or distance) to charge it thus keeping the battery cooler for longer and the charge rate higher for longer durations resulting in a much improved charged time. The addition...
  16. Who really wants to know what the CT final specs and features are going to be? The OEMS.

If you think prospective customers are eagerly waiting for final CT specs, imagine how badly the OEM competition is waiting, lol. The OEM's are totally left in the dark at this point and unable to even plan for what they need to compete against. I am going to predict a few of the toughest...
  17. Mary Barra Living in Cloud Cuckoo Land

Most yes, all no. Like the EV rebates, solutions should be based off of US manufactured solutions. Indirect bailouts? Perhaps. One could argue that its just a corporate bailout sugar coated to look like its a tax payer rebate. Though honestly, due to volume, Tesla or Tesla's customers...
  18. Mary Barra Living in Cloud Cuckoo Land

How about better/more solar installation credits, something that benefits for a longer duration and is not tied to a depreciating asset? EV's are being gobbled up as fast as they are produced without incentives *regardless* of EV's upfront higher costs. Tesla's pricing alone is a great example...
  19. Switching to Rivian

Good luck. Assuming you have a reservation for a CT and hopefully for you it is an early reservation, I would not let it go to waste. With potential EV tax credits and the absolutely mind numbing backlog of trucks that are on preorder you may want to plan on purchasing both and flipping one...
