  1. Tesla Austin Cybertruck Factory Presentation Reveals 5,000 Jobs and 20 Years of Rebates

If you live in Wimberley, then yes we are neighbors.
  2. 5 inch clearance

With today’s back up cameras it is super easy to get within two inches of the back wall every time without ever hitting it. And it doesn’t take long. They are designed to give a great view of the trailer hitch and precision backing up and getting the ball directly under the coupler in one try.
  3. 5 inch clearance

I have a large garage but a huge truck. I can park my truck (reverse in of course) and despite the tight fit it’s not an issue. I‘m sure the fsd features will be able to park in a tight space. It will probably take it longer than doing it yourself but I’m sure the CT could do it. If you haven’t...
  4. CyberTruck vs Rivian on Battery Tech?

The Rivian is a nice truck. I equate the R1T to a Tacoma. It appears to be a very capable light pickup that can haul and tow some, but it’s main purpose in life is adventuring travel. The CT is akin to a Raptor but with 3/4 ton truck work capabilities. If I didn’t need to tow long distance and...
  5. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

that is a terrible center console layout. The shifter looks so bad it's like something out of 1980.
  6. What Can A Cybertruck NOT Do?

If your preorder number is before mine you can park in my garage until my order comes in :devilish:
  7. Tesla Austin Cybertruck Factory Presentation Reveals 5,000 Jobs and 20 Years of Rebates

If the gig/terra factory is in Austin I will be able to pick it up at the factory when my order is done. It’s only 45 minutes from me.
  8. Cybertruck wishlist - options or ideas you'd like to see available?

Maybe Tesla starts doing facial recognition by then but keeping that little credit card style fob in your swimsuit is super easy and secure. I’ve kept my ID and cc in my Velcro pocket in my swimsuit while wakeboard for years and never lost them. And I’ve had some serious crashes wakeboarding.
  9. The Cybertruck is NOT a "Pickup Truck". So what is it?

I agree for the single and dual motors. The trimotor is more on par with the 3/4 ton single axle trucks. I will be swapping my 2017 Ram 2500 that I am completely happy with for a trimotor Cybertruck if the towing range is sufficient for my needs.
  10. Bed Lining

I think they are grooves to house rubber or plastic ridges. I've looked at the pics quite a bit and sometimes it looks like a shadow from a groove, but most times it looks like an actual protrusion or bump, which would indicate there is an insert there. It makes sense they would be an insert...
  11. The Cybertruck is NOT a "Pickup Truck". So what is it?

MXV - Mars eXpedition Vehicle :devilish:
  12. Cybertruck pics & videos from the Petersen Automotive Museum [Dates Extended Until July 5]

One thing that seems pretty clear from the pics. The tires that are currently sported by the prototype are not what will go on the production model. The ones on the prototype are clearly marked "not for highway use". I would advocate a rugged terrain tire (aka hybrid terrain) as an option. I...
  13. Tesla Analyst Estimates 'Staggering' 650K Cybertruck Preorders

The tracker is up North of 800k reservations. By the time Tesla starts production, it could be approaching 1M reservations. If there is a 40% to 50% conversion rate, we still are North of 400k CTs that need to be delivered. If the initial reviews from customers come out solid on fit/finish...
  14. The Cybertruck is NOT a "Pickup Truck". So what is it?

Years ago there was a vehicle from Mazda called the MPV, so I can't vote for that one...it was a crossover vehicle and not very exciting. XCV: eXtreme Capabilities Vehicle ?
  15. Cybertruck towing additions needed - towing eyes and winch

it appears to me that front tow hooks would be an easy manufacturing feature standard in the air intake just like on our traditional trucks. The rear tow hook could be in the towing receiver as an owner aftermarket add on. I’d like it if a winch were a factory option as well.
  16. Cybertruck pics & videos from the Petersen Automotive Museum [Dates Extended Until July 5]

The prototype does look nice overall. The thing that they will need to alter about the hitch, IMO, is that it appears the receiver is not long enough to get past the bumper. That could make for some issues if you have the need to use a drop, or more importantly, a rise hitch. Also, since the...
  17. Cybertruck Interior Compared to Competitors (Sandy Munro Series)

I just found a video which got a good view of the back of the middle seat. No vents that I could see there but it’s pretty hard to tell black on black and this is just a prototype. Please do report back if you are able to see the interior.
  18. Cybertruck Interior Compared to Competitors (Sandy Munro Series)

I just watched another video from reveal night. The motor1.com ride video gives some good views of the dash and I can clearly see the hvac is very similar to the m3 For the front seat passengers. It is one long slit. The black dash that starts out against the windshield as it meets the marbled...
  19. Interior Side View Camera Screen Spotted?!

The thing about side mirrors is they are a major contributor to both road noise and aero drag...at least big tow mirrors are. Plus, mirrors are the thing that gets wacked on tight trails, are a pain to clean bugs and mud from, etc. I'm hoping that the CT thinks outside the box and gives us...
  20. Cybertruck (Orders) Demand Would Take 3-4 Years Production to Fulfill Says Musk

The truck structure could be produced quickly, but I worry about the ability to supply enough batteries to produce that many CTs.
