  1. CT end of life

The world is constantly changing and, in some ways, improving. Ten years from now life will be so different that there is almost no point in trying to make predictions. The technology of batteries is changing so fast that by the time the structural battery pack with 4680 cells is in the...
  2. Cybertruck reservations halted outside North America

Actually, my comment was focused on the look and feel of GigaAustin. It is all SO Cybertruck oriented, right down to the window, retaining wall, retaining pond, and planter designs, that it is unimaginable that their focus for the plant isn't (and won't continue to be) Cybertruck production...
  3. CT end of life

Have you seen the videos they made of the Model Y structural battery packs being installed (take a look at the Cyber Rodeo video)? They mount the seats and raise the whole thing into the car. It ‘looks’ like they could take them out pretty easily. Maybe the CT will be similar…
  4. Cybertruck reservations halted outside North America

Have you looked at the video of giga Austin or watch Elon wearing CT shirts and hats all the time? They are 200% into producing the CT in Austin. Personally I would rate the chances of the CT being produced anywhere but Austin in the low single digits. Just an opinion.
  5. CT end of life

    Sounds like perpetual motion.
  6. CT end of life

They did put ‘+’ symbols after all the range estimates. It is hard to imagine Tesla bothering to make such a claim if they weren’t pretty certain that they would be somewhat over those numbers. And that was in 2019. Recent reports from credible sources (Dahn and Straubel) tell us that the total...
  7. CT end of life

I expect the lifetime of CT batteries to be about 30-50 years (1,000,000 / 20,000). I do not think I will be around for either of those so I don’t care about the battery lifetime anymore. The exoskeleton and motors will probably last a long time, the motors probably being the first to go but...
  8. CyberTruck Tri/Quad Reservations

If the spreadsheet owners were to publish their algorithm and reasoning we could decide for ourselves whether or not there is value for us. It isn't a complete data set by any means, and it is based on information that isn't available to the authors (or anyone), such as start of production...
  9. CyberTruck Tri/Quad Reservations

I was optimistic about the spreadsheet in the beginning but now I think it is a waste of our collective energies.
  10. I'm Feeling like a kid at Christmas 🎄 while waiting on the Cybertruck in 2023

I desperately wanted a minibike when I was 14 but my father said that if I wanted one I would have to earn the money to buy it. So I got a paper route. By the time I had earned enough to get a mini bike I was old enough to drive :-) i wonder whether the CT, when it finally gets produced will be...
  11. Most important EV of the decade: Lightning

This 'article' seems like a mish mash of ideas, which makes me think that the source author is questionable - it is certainly not coherently written. I do not see much pro-Lightning here but the general consensus is that the Lightning is a good thing. I just hope that Ford gets them out in...
  12. I'm Feeling like a kid at Christmas 🎄 while waiting on the Cybertruck in 2023

Those are good points. No @Crissa we shopped for and bought our home in a few months. And @GnarlyDudeLive i paid off my last car and started saving funds for my next one but didn’t sell it until they said the CT would be delayed until 2023 and then we bought the MY. returning to the kid at...
  13. I'm Feeling like a kid at Christmas 🎄 while waiting on the Cybertruck in 2023

Sadly most kids don’t have to wait 3-4 years for Christmas. I have never had to wait this long to buy anything in my whole life :-(
  14. Elon Musk Financial Times Interview (Includes some Cybertruck content)

That is an odd percentage to throw out. I would have guessed that maybe 30% might drop out in the normal course of things, and that maybe 20% of the rest might convert to another truck. That would still be over 500K. If it takes them a year to get up to speed, then that could be about 3 years of...
  15. Elon Musk Financial Times Interview (Includes some Cybertruck content)

How can you conflate a few words into all of these projections? The news about Tesla possibly stopping new orders was for M3 and MY that are already in production and backlogged, not Cybertrucks. You invented that. No doubt they will have more orders in the 3 years, but didn't they stop showing...
  16. Elon Musk Financial Times Interview (Includes some Cybertruck content)

It is a stretch to take his 3 year statement as more than what it is. Maybe he didn't want to frighten people. Maybe he doesn't think the media can understand numbers greater than 3 or timelines longer than 3 years. Maybe he doesn't want to make predictions that far out since maybe there WILL be...
  17. Is $TSLA going to 600.00?

Since when is $750 the same, or close to, $600? I have heard of people grossly rounding up or down but come on... Personally I would like it to stop and go back up. All of this Twitter, and Russia, and talk of moving Twitter elsewhere because San Francisco is so progressive (as though moving to...
  18. Cybertruck launch delayed again - Per AutoForecast Solutions - until Oct 2023

It must be Sunday :) Don’t forget - today is Mother’s Day … what weapon would help her the most!
  19. Tesla employee undergoing Hot Form Stainless Steel Training

There was early talk of scoring, folding, and then running a weld bead where the scoring had been but I may have that wrong.
  20. Tesla employee undergoing Hot Form Stainless Steel Training

And you speak for the rest of 'we'? Apparently not for one of us. It is extrememly unlikely that this process is for the exoskeleton, and I for one am very interested in whether it is for other panels and for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
