Ahhh āStripper Scentā⦠smells like cheap perfume and after smelling it and looking at your scratches on your truck, it makes you wanna ārub one outā. See? No more scratches!
I assume from your location, you live in Jersey. Salt and Magchloride do a hell of a number on it and those spots look similar.
I dont know how you used the BKF, but with magchloride/salt, you really need to put in elbow grease. If you can use a buffer machine, thats your best bet and it will...
Dont worry about this. Thats how they patina. I have done all the BKF/Citrisurf stuff. Good for a spring cleaning. It looks bad ass like that.... like your grill. That is the weathered look folks die for on their leather goods. Enjoy it. Because if you fight it... you are gonna be doing a...
Immediately is true. I let mine sit for a week or two. You get these white spots that donāt come off easily. You will need to BKF or Citrisurf them with some serious elbow grease to get them to come off. So now, my CT doesnāt get to play outside until itās dry outside. Itās too much of a...
I did some fairly long posts on DIY citrisurf with citric acid along with posts about citric acid and passivation in another thread. I suggest that you read it. Citric acid is the best thing that you can do for stainless steel to give it a solid exterior. There are a lot of articles on the...
Colorado here tooā¦. SW part of the state. Either use Citrisurf 77 (or citric acid - same stuff but a lot cheaper⦠search the forums for my post on this) or BKF. Use a polisher tool and you wonāt need elbow grease. I use a Milwaukee polisher M18 but you can find cheap polishers or orbital...
Yep⦠similar situation as you. Just get that mag chloride off as quickly as you can. The chloride part reacts with the stainless. Every place I have mag chloride you can see the spots on the steel. Itās been such a PITA for me, I only use my Fords when itās snowing or wet. The CT is for dry...
Ahhh... so for a guy who has never used it... you think that is correct? Try spraying it on your vehicle. It immediately runs down your truck and drips on the floor. Now spray some water on it... that runs down... and it dilutes it.... and after a few minutes, it's very diluted... it didnt...
š dude... you pontificate and spew poor knowledge. The only one who is clueless is you. I have a slew of DMs from other members who think you are a complete tool. You play the know-it all card, like your crappy knowledge of tires... and any time I showed you that you were wrong via expert...
Bingo :-). Thatās 5.8 22oz bottles of Citisurf 77. Or about 2 bottles per truck in 1 sitting. Hahaha, @HaulingAss Iām glad you loved the post because this underscored what I said š¤£. Typical of you @HaulingAss. Oh noā¦. Nobody would ever use that much. š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Umm no. You donāt understand how passivition works with citric acid. You are 100% incorrect. You may be correct with oxilic acid, but NOT citric acid.
Citric acid does not strip the passivation layer off. Immersion of stainless steel in an acid bath dissolves free iron from the surface...
About 15 minutes. Temps in my garage were about 58. I believe the Citrisurf 77 also says 15-20 minutes and keep it wet. You can keep it wet by putting paper towels soaked in it. After that be sure to use water with a sponge to remove it all or it will get sticky. I pretty much followed the...
