Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

One of the big car mags.. I think Motortrend?... had a discussion after the CT reveal. An older editor was talking about it, he had talked to the Tesla engineers, etc, and went over things that weren't said by Elon and co. at the reveal. A couple items stood out. One, was that the prototype...

    Price Increases?

Of course they will, of course they won't. This is the beauty of human diversity.

no question it's hideous from the exterior. From the interior, you'll barely see it behind the a pillar.

Sure, but none of those images are a car, let alone an electric car.

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

Unlike most (all?) cars, the CT doesn't have a "kink" where the hood meets the windshield. No place to hide it. Stored horizontal it would be a drag nightmare. How they currently have it would reduce drag and also visually hide it from the interior along the a-pillar. There might be some...

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

Well, I view a 6% range penalty as minor. It's not like the Quad in this scenario has a smaller battery, and both have outstanding range if you're talking 470+. If we we're talking a 500mile Tri vs a 300 mile Quad, I'd go with the tri. When I say I'd get the best CT I could afford, I'm...

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

I'll get the best one I can afford. I honestly don't know what model that is yet. But range is more important to me than acceleration, at least when you're talking Tesla acceleration. They're all fast.

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

Well, I think the Truck production will be 50% or less of capacity (previously said to be 250k per year), and we're talking half a year to reach 2024, so that's around 65k trucks if "mid 2023" means a full 6 months and they hit 50% capacity right away. Both are optimistic. I think the demand...

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

I think a full-featured, quad motor Plaid Cybertruck will be the first production run, probably for all of 2023 and into 2024. It will be expensive, moreso than the Model S Plaid. This way they can maximize profits while they work out production bugs. It will also mean the first CT's out in...

My dad felt that way at 77. If it’s any consolation, he’s 88 now, still physically and mentally with it, still driving, and still likes to talk tech with me. Hopefully you have lots of time to enjoy your CT.

New Silverado videos / email update. Still know nothing about the CT....

I will say I really like the Chevy. Great styling, love the midgate. And that is a real solid marketing clip. It would speak to the guys on my hockey team, who pretty much define the truck market.

New Silverado videos / email update. Still know nothing about the CT....

They don't really need to send updates. We're all going to buy it anyway if we can. If we can't, someone else will. Sure, it would make me happy to get an email with a video, but I don't think they care. And to be clear, GM doesn't either, other than they are trying to sell you something...

    Radar. Precipitation interferes with radar.

    Better safety through radar

Radar doesn’t work well in precipitation. That’s why when you want to drive fast, fog is your friend!

Is there any hope for the 40k Cybertruck?

Only if CT is capable of going back in time when it hits 88mph. Or the economy collapses. Both possible.

SpaceX employees denounce CEO Musk as 'distraction': letter [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

People are going to agree or disagree on whether he's an issue based on whether they agree or disagree with the things he says. As such, this conversation will unfortunately go nowhere until it is sucked into the vortex of politics and the mods shut it down. I enjoy those political...
