Will Cybertruck be equipped with the new Tesla battery and motor?

It also makes sense, when we look at what Elon "wants" the CT to be, to expect the stronger, smoother, higher RPM motor. I think it has been established that the 4680 batteries with the nickel chemistry is the direction they are going. I also feel that the Semi will have the new carbon fiber...

Elon Says Final Cybertruck Design is Now Locked! Updated Production Timeline = Mid-2023

My 2021 Model 3 has no fitment or alignment issues. None drastic enough to rival the Dodges, Fords, Nissans, Subarus, Chevys, Toyotas, or Volkswagens I've owned throughout my life. This is old news of the early hand built era of Tesla. Especially before the automation.

    Gas Prices

I cannot accept any "drill more" excuses when the trash fuel they pass off as diesel costs more than premium. I grew up KNOWING that diesel/stove oil/farm fuel was 1/3 the price of gasoline because it was the dregs of the refinery process that was barely fit for stationary boilers and farm...

TFL Says the Cybertruck Will Flop

Thank you all for watching the video so I don't have to.

    Battery Progress

"... I can also personally attest that the car can go several miles after the gauge reaches 0% lol." I can attest to the learning curve too. 0 on my Model 3 battery meter is not 0 but it is scary to think of the possibility of having a flatbed tow truck pick me up from I-84 and transport me...

    CT end of life

I've missed the qualifying comments you reference. We can disagree with the importance of the range degradation, but I fully agree with you that trucks need to have a range that allows for a full day's work under load without the need for recharge. That and a minimum of 8 feet of bed length.

    CT end of life

All of your examples of fuel economy are directly comparable to my 1971 naturally aspirated F250 with a 390 and a C6 automatic. Sure, you have the same economy as you did when it was new. But at damn near $4.50/gallon you are standing on really shaky ground. Your example isn't expressing what...

    CT end of life

Honestly, I was waiting for someone to pose the degradation question this way. Thank you. Even with the superstar outliers of 500K to 1M miles driven on a single chassis, most of the cars in the junk yards have just over 200K miles on the Odometer. Yes, many of them are smashed in some way...

Elon Musk Financial Times Interview (Includes some Cybertruck content)

Fair point. My understanding is the Cybertruck is supposed to be the next iteration toward full automation/fewest parts/minimal human interaction build similar to the models 3 and Y. The models S and X are still relatively hand built.

    Towing Capacity and Range?

I have noticed the "towing dismissal" that gets applied to my questions and statements too. Towing is a necessity occasionally even with an eight foot cargo bed. I have towed trailers behind my trucks before, including car hauling. I have never enjoyed the process. At least one of these...

Dodge Ram will be better than Ford F-150 Lightning

I agree completely with the facts. I just remember the Terror and concern we had, as a nation(media storm) when GM and the rest of the Automakers were going under during the crash of 2008. The response from our government was a gentle scolding and a lot of financial coddling. Yes, they will...

Dodge Ram will be better than Ford F-150 Lightning

I know this wasn't directed at me. But, I plan on keeping our Model 3 when I buy the Cybertruck. I will sell my F250 and my Dakota. I even have the tickle of a plan to sell the hybrid for a full electric (used or new). Also, if I can convince my better half to part with her super car, I would...

Dodge Ram will be better than Ford F-150 Lightning

I hope the market is full of quality EV options. My opinion of GM's offerings is tepid, and I still see this as a playground for the wealthy and incorporated. So, my hope is tattered and wheezing. But alive it remains. I think, once the Cybertruck is FiNalLy in full production, the rest of...

My Model 3 took a 12v smoke break

If the advice is unsolicited? Nah. There are plenty of opinions that aren't worth the air it takes to burp them. If they're trying to help? Absolutely. I've been told too many times that my F250 is a P.O.S. just because of the badge. But it has only left me walking when I neglected to give...

My Model 3 took a 12v smoke break

For corporate circle jerks? no. For reliability, check with the old guys at the parts store, and ask a independent mechanic. Look at who is spending the most for advertising and question why, and pay attention to what the ads are selling. Are they selling sexual attraction or are they selling...

My Model 3 took a 12v smoke break

We drive our standard range model 3 to the Portland area often. we have the range to get across the mountains to Pendleton, then to the Dalles, then to the Vancouver Mall, even in the winter. It does take us longer than a trip in our Fusion, but it is entirely more relaxing to take the Tesla...

My Model 3 took a 12v smoke break

JD powers and Consumer reports are reputable? I used to think so, until I realized their revenue sources are not "independent" from their subject matter. They both show preference to their donors, just watch the advertisements and realize it is the same manufacturers getting the "best of..."...

    Towing Capacity and Range?

My Ford fusion has the brake pedal regen like the Toyota. It sucks. The more I drive the Model 3 and the Fusion hybrid, the less I value the hybrid as an electric. The best hybrids have to offer is assistance from a dead stop. Otherwise, the batteries are woefully inadequate, the electric...
