  1. Cybertruck Towing Common Sense FAQ

The Silverado EV is not too far off that expectation. Yes the Rivian will tow a bit further than the CT, its all about the pack size & tire/wheel combination. Keep in mind the Rivian charge port location is better suited for charging with a trailer on non-pull through stations, with the CT I...
  2. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Mr.Phonics was referring to travelling not commuting Commuter car's with small faster charging batteries N/A. Yes as per OP
  3. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Ok maybe, nice generic hypothetical study. The folks from the suburbs heading into the city in their car to catch a game & night in the hotel? Ok so if people only travel 125mi/day & only commute 40 miles a day why are manufacturers making 300-600mile range vehicles? I hope the data works for...

  5. 2024 Silverado EV WT Range Officially EPA Certified

One would think that the good side of a charge graph should be as far away from the bottom half as possible.
  6. Rivian shouldn't even be in the picture. Cybertruck or Lightning are the only contenders

The test in question was from a year ago with a Quad motor on 34" all terrains. I believe there has been an update since which improved range as well.
  7. Rivian shouldn't even be in the picture. Cybertruck or Lightning are the only contenders

Maybe you did the math wrong but you think the CT would do 20% better with a 14F(average) temp increase added to the lower air density of the higher elevation? 484 x .2 = 97 (484-97=387) I believe there has been an update since that particular R1T test that improved the range, possibly using...
  8. Rivian shouldn't even be in the picture. Cybertruck or Lightning are the only contenders

Depending on the distance the Rivian may have the advantage as it has the lowest Cd and largest battery. The 70mph road tests show a 14%-34% advantage. As speed increases past 70mph the Rivian does better vs the others. T/SC will be available for all soon and unless the CT charging curve...
  9. Rivian shouldn't even be in the picture. Cybertruck or Lightning are the only contenders

Only the Hummer has that heavy of a battery the others are well below 2K, EVs have a lower Cg than comparable ICE trucks.
  10. Rivian owner REACTS to driving the CYBERTRUCK

Jerry rig did a tow test and the highway road noise was terrible, maybe the load on the drivetrain was causing it. I do like the durability of the SS, larger box, steer by wire, 4WS & 48V & front view of the CT. In my view the back half of the CT is as unappealing as the bulbous front of the...
  11. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

The reason they are unfazed is because you pay per mile travelled, the cost to complete a charge is irrelevant. The mi/kwh is what matters.
  12. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Sorry didn't intend to be disingenuous, anyone buying a 100k vehicle should probably look into the specs. It has been pretty well documented that the CT is smaller than the competition. What is truly disingenuous is marketing a vehicle with excess irrelevant marketing hype & false claims to the...
  13. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

As it did with the Rivian test. Agreed, in all fairness it needs to be done side by side. We will see, the CT may get similar efficiency but will not go as far due to smaller pack & higher Cd. It will fit the needs of most just not ideal for road trips and/or 100+ mile tow trips.
  14. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Really? Were you hoping that they would swap packs to make things more fair? I have never seen a test where they swapped out gas tanks or engines to make things more equal. I guess I also completely ignored the fact that the aerodynamics are completely different as well? Do buyers care about...
  15. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

Probably, 2.05mi/kwh is not too bad at 70mph, it did better than I expected. Tri-motor is a disappointment. DM the expectations were too high. The truth will come out when we see the side by side tests.
  16. 10,000+ Miles Driving a Cybertruck – Things learned: range, great sound and full love/hate list after 10k miles

So far the range for the tri-motor model sucks but the range is as expected for the Dual motor as they only claimed 300miles & it will achieve that in summer on the smaller A/S tires at rural hwy speed limits. They never claimed 300 miles at 70-80mph. It was quite similar to the Rivian test the...
  17. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

What you quoted on showed it did better(1.13) with an above average sized load For traveling it does not make sense but most charging is at home for a fraction of that. Frequently Occasionally Rarely/Never Shopping/Errands 87% 6% 7% Pleasure Driving 70% 20% 9% Commuting 52% 4% 44%...
  18. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Check the Rivian forum's, expect a similar mi/kwh.
  19. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

It actually got 115 miles, pretty standard issue to get 1mi/kwh towing a RV trailer. I have reviewed enough tests & actually the airstream is a bit better than your typical box front RV. There is a reason box cars don't have wings & jet engines.
