This is PET vinyl, misleadingly advertised as PPF on eBay and other marketplaces where anything goes unchecked. It doesn't protect, it doesn't self heal and it doesn't last much (both color pigments and material). See for yourself (taken from one of the ultra cheap eBay listings)...
...of the pitting as well after leaving magnets on for a month. Bar keepers removed all the rust but the pitting is still there.
I started vinylwrapping behind behind the magnets. This provides a layer of insulation between the metals and should allow me to put magnets again, without having...
The fragile nature of these thin speaker covers made it so the shop that did this for me said they would never do them again, they even bought me a second set I have new in the box in case it didn't work. They came out great but they warp under the heat of the cerakote process, similar to...
Would you consider selling just one piece to see if it’s really DIY friendly. What is the easiest part to install and what is the most difficult piece.
This would give us a chance to try it out and if it works we will buy the full set. Thoughts? Suggestions…
Since you're open to DIY — that's where you'll save the most. The CT's an easy DIY job with our pre-cut kit (just fits, no trimming), and the price is all upfront, none of the quote runaround you're hitting: vinyl color-change or color-infused PPF, $1,199–1,699, 50+ colors →...
Agree: The wrap is directional and must be oriented the same - it would incur more waste - however this is how it has to be done.
I have mine wrapped in a similar vinyl : color changing directional/ Green/bronze/gold
The best thing you can do for this forum is to list the name address, and phone number of the shop that took your money to create this abomination.
I don’t even want to know what you paid for this Helen Keller special but it makes me want to cry.
Wish you all the best and getting your money back.
Hi guys,
Last December I went to a reputable wrap shop in Tampa FL (Over 300 5* Google reviews). and got 3M 2080 Satin Flip Volcanic Flare VinylWrap. Please see pictures enclosed to see what it looks like. I do not think it was done properly based on the different tone of color from fenders to...
I do the Bar Keepers Friend thing 2 times a year and I am satisfied but 3 times a year might be better. The rest of the time I take it through the local car wash. You may be more picky than me, of course. To me it is a truck and I expect some scratches and grime but I do notice them. You vehicle...
good question, depends how faded they are. Our decals are slightly bigger /thicker letters than stock, because the 'super thin' laser etching when re-made in vinyl is not durable.
So if it's faded, yes. If it's not faded, it's not going to cover it totally.
Maybe a silly question, but if I do not have a wrap of any kind, and I just want to “highlight” the foundation series badges that look a bit faded on my truck, would the vinyl badges you sell be a good fix for that? Is it individual letters in exactly the same size as the original?
...three months. They suggested colored PPF but I wasn’t ready to change the color. If I only did ceramic coating and I did decide to do a vinylwrap down the road you have to take it off etc.
So I looked at a sample of clear PPF and thought I could still have the stainless steel protection...
I am not super duper looking for this design in particular, I was willing to explore and try them out for a few weeks. I went with these ones.

Wanting to change the color is a valid and logical reason to wrap a Cybertruck. But I was responding to someone who gave this answer as to why put PPF on a stainless steel panel:
The Cybertruck panels do not rust. That was a common narrative before there were enough Cybertrucks in real owners...
They wanted a specific look. They got it by getting PPF (2 to 3x the thickness of typical vinylwrap).
I have no wrap nor PPF, my door has finger prints. I take the truck to the self car wash once in a while. To each their own?
I wrapped multiple cars in the past and they were all fine; one going on 9 years, the other 7. PPF is different than vinyl. PPF typically carries a 8-10 year warranty. This is an installer inexperience issue that will be made right. To wrap or not is personal preference. But PPF is made to...
Nice. That looks like a custom designed vinylwrap which you can get from an reputable commercial vinylwrap shop. They can help you design your pattern on their software or BYOP🤓
