I bought TSLA in 2016 yet I just leased my first M3 this week. The lease is extremely appealing. (as low as $349 per month pretax). I think it is because TSLA wants these cars back in 2-3 years when Robotaxi is viable. For me I think we might have the model 2 in 2 years and a model 3 will...
The tracker gave me a estimated place in line for all CT and just the Dual Motor. Pretty much 35% of the total. I think the tracker is lopsided towards enthusiast (tri motor) and there are actually more single motor and dual motors reservation out there than the estimates.
Remember the last major release was the Y. They beat the estimate. I think Elon/Tesla has learned to sandbag a little but stay aggressive. But you are right. There are a lot of new things with the CT.
The lowest stated lease for M3 is only $349. I added the down payment, charger, taxes and tires. to look at net. I imagine the Bolt also has a down payment and taxes that will get it close to the Net Tesla lease. Bolt or Tesla for $9 more. Hmmm.
I have never leased but I am thinking...
The only time you would want max height is going super slow. I think for most off roading you would set it at 75% of max I would think.
It just occurred to me that the CT might need the HW4 computer more than any of the other models (infotainment not withstanding) It might be like another...
My dual motor reservation is 219,567 according to the tracker and 654,114 overall. I have sworn I will never buy a new ICE and my existing cars are all worn out.
I am thinking about leasing the plainest Jane white Model 3 RWD this weekend. Currently the most efficient BEV in production...
What if they just hinged in towards the glass and flat against it. If you are doing a bunch of highway driving, fold them in. In town leave them out. I kind of doubt it but the entire window area is recessed from the pillars.
I am surprised nobody mentioned the large overhang into the bed. I hope that comes off and is storable or it is going to suck for hauling refrigerators. Is it possible that this is the first link on the tonneau?
As people have said there doesn't appear to be light going through to the...
I look at this optimistically. If the first 5000 units represent a loss and the next 5000 units offsets the first 5000 such that there is not a significant positive or negative impact to the bottom line ; that could still be 10,000 units. 2024 would then have both volume and margin per unit.
My prediction is the recession will be short and there will be some progress in Ukraine. China is coming out of Covid and will probably goose their economy with stimulus spending. We should see a really strong recovery in Q3 and Q4.
Great informative post. My only fear is that the large giga casting will be tough to dial in. I remember Giga Berlin had real problems getting reliable casts for the Model Y for a while. The CT casting will be that much more difficult. Nobody has die cast a part this big and complex...
The competition did
The competition did what they always do. They did the least amount of engineering and investment to bring a 'new' product to market borrowing as much from the old generation as they could and charged as much as they could get away with. Tesla has always been an...
I do like the emphasis on American manufacturing. I hope congress doesn't change that part. Even if people don't qualify for the entire incentive. (which also reduces the lost tax revenue.) We need to claw back this capability. There is no better time to do it with a change in...
Like Magic isn't it. I see why Elon doesn't like incentives. It made judging the market that much harder. The sales crash in December was difficult to manage. The March changes will be similar. I suppose it works out in the end tho.
First I have to say " I called it" There is a link between Model Y and CT pricing. The price of the Y had to come down. I still see a 5-10% increase in the original pricing of the CT offset a little with 4ws.
I didn't know how Tesla was going to do it. This is a bold surprise and...
OP here. I can't explain it but currently the wait and other things have made the CT less attractive. Some psychology major might chime in here.
I have gotten on without a truck for 3 years now. My Aluma trailer does the job of the truck when I need volume. Pulling a trailer/boat will...
