can this be install on the mid section crossbars? I really like this design but having it mount on the rear section limits the access to the truck bed, I would have to crawl in to pull stuffs out. Thank you.

I think CT did extremely well in this crash. If you look at the ditch CT picture, you can see there is a big gap between the outside panel and inside panel. so it is very likely that the impact didn't go though the insider panel. the Ford does look like it hit a wall.
based on the configuration of the beast (permanent in the front), I would assume it would be FWD during cruising. I would definitely get dual if it is true since I favor rear drive biased AWD system, even during cruising.
Yes but you can say the same for Rivian. The rear bumper on the CT is hanging out a lot more than the bumper on the Rivian, it is not going to make much of a difference even if max height is slightly higher than the Rivian.
